As you gather with friends and family this holiday season, remember it is you who can make all the difference in people's lives. Without a doubt you are someone's blessing...a child's encouragement, a friends comfort, or your family's strength.

We at Angels of Assisi are thankful for you. Whether you are a volunteer, foster parent, ambassador, donor, adopter, or a client in the clinic, each of you help to further our mission, and for that we are thankful. Thank you for giving from the heart so effortlessly and making the world a better place.
If you're enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with a little family time and feast and/or you're out delivering food or toys to underprivileged families, be sure to take a moment to participate in the spirit of the season and tradition.

Hope you enjoy this holiday season and remember to never grow weary of doing good for others.

Let's continue to #InspireCompassion and #DoGood together.

Theon and his siblings have been with us a little while. They are super shy but really curious. We have a couple of our volunteers that have been spending time with them and getting them ready for their new homes! Come visit them in our adoption center any day between 12-6pm!

This lovely lady has been mourning the loss of her dog for over a month, and decided today was the day to find happiness again. WV Rescue 16, now named Ava, is heading home with her. Thank you to PetSmart Charities for hosting us for National Adoption Day, and thank you to Petco Foundation for gifting us the vehicle that is changing lives. Teamwork works for the pets, and people, in our community!

It's almost #GivingTuesday, a day to remember those who need our help most.

In honor of this day, will you choose Angels of Assisi? You can help us raise funds for an x-ray machine, which provides a much needed service at a low cost in our community. The total cost of the project is $55,000.

For many, the cost of an x-ray prevents them from being able to provide their pet the care it needs. With the addition of an x-ray machine to our Community Pet Clinic, we’ll be able to help more people keep their pets, and provide better care to the animals in our Adoption Center. Each year, we see the need for over 300 x-rays between the Community Pet Clinic and Adoption Center. Will you partner with us so we will be able to help pets like Baxter receive the diagnostic and medical treatment they need? You can give here: www.angelsofassisi.org/donate

Beth came to us after being found tied to a cinder block under a house as the flood waters from Hurricane Matthew started rising in North Carolina. Today, she found her home!

Every adoption is a happy one but today was particularly exciting.

Olinda got adopted!

Olinda was one of two dogs we got from a Korean meat farm a few months ago. When she first got here, she wouldn't let anyone touch her and she would spend all of her time hiding in her cage which we kept in her kennel to help her feel more secure.

Olinda is still fearful of new situations but she's gotten to the point that she will lick our hands and interact a little. Now she's entering the next leg of her journey and we wish her well. Here she is saying goodbye to Ray as she leaves with her new person.
