On the other hand, yeah, it IS annoying when a tech company drops support for something you’ve been using, innit? Here are some examples that have annoyed me, and what end users can do about it. http://www.angelahighland.com/2015/05/20/and-now-a-rebuttal-to-my-own-rebuttal/

Did Microsoft dropping support for XP annoy you? I offer for your consideration the viewpoint of someone who has in fact worked for Microsoft, on why tech companies drop support for things. http://www.angelahighland.com/2015/05/20/on-why-tech-companies-drop-support-for-older-software/

I'm due to post on Here Be Magic on Tuesday, and need something to post about! I'd gotten tagged a while back on the Seven Things About My Writing Meme, and would like to go back to that as a possible post topic. But it'd help if I have things to answer. Anybody got questions they'd like me to address?

Spotted on The Mary Sue. Eight-bit game, in which you are a cat, and your objective is to wake your human up at 3am. :D http://grey2scale.itch.io/garbage-cat

Currently in my book stock: 16 print copies of Faerie Blood, 24 of Bone Walker. (Also, four suboptimal copies of Bone Walker that I am willing to offer at a substantial discount. ;) ) As always, talk to me if you'd like to order a copy of either! Order while the ordering is good, otherwise these copies are going with me to be sold at Worldcon in August.

Oh hell, Mama's Mexican Kitchen is closing! sniff I will be sad to see it go. And all the more reason I'm happy to have immortalized it in Faerie Blood! ;)

Meanwhile the Internet fairies inform me that Victory of the Hawk got another pretty good review from a blogger, so yay! Another reviewer confused by coming in on Book 3 of the trilogy, though. ^_^;; But at least they liked Victory well enough that they are going to go back and read Valor and Vengeance. General friendly reminder to all: if you have not yet read any of the Rebels of the Adalonia books, and you think you might want to, DO NOT try to start with Victory of the Hawk. Start with Valor of the Healer. This is a fantasy trilogy, people! You do not want to start a fantasy trilogy on Book 3!

I went looking for Tolkien-themed fan art to pretty up my desktops, and came across this lovely thing. Beren and Luthien, my favorite tale hands down from the Silmarillion. <3 http://www.deviantart.com/art/Beren-and-Luthien-257096509
Though it seems, my account is not dead. So, this was one of my birthday gifts to my boyfriend. Tolkien is his favourite writer, and the tale of Beren and Lúthien was one of his favourite stories. ...

Today's second vexation, category "Annoyances Only Guitarists Will Understand": I need to restring Rags, and I do not have a complete set of appropriate strings that doesn't suck. OH DARN I guess I'm just going to have to order a new set of Martins WHATEVER SHALL I DO.

Story
Tagline
I write SF/F novels as Angela Korra'ti (self-pub) and Angela Highland (for Carina Press)! And I'm a raving fangirl for Newfoundland and Quebecois trad music!
Introduction
Hi, I'm Angela Korra'ti, Anna the Piper online and Anna to my friends. And if that wasn't complicated enough, I also write under the name Angela Highland!

I'm a computer geek, a writer, and an amateur musician, living in Kenmore, WA with my partner Dara, our housemate Paul, and assorted computers, instruments, and pets.

I'm a science fiction and fantasy writer, and my official website is right over here: http://www.angelahighland.com/books/faerie-blood/!

Book 2 of Faerie Blood's trilogy, Bone Walker, is in progress and will soon be joining Faerie Blood for sale, targeted for Spring 2014.

My high fantasy trilogy, Rebels of Adalonia, is also available from Carina Press! Book 1, Valor of the Healer, is now available. Book 2, Vengeance of the Hunter, will be releasing on April 28, 2014!

I'm liberal, agnostic with pagan sympathies, feminist, and queer-friendly, and sometimes I'll talk about that.

I'm a breast cancer survivor, and had reconstruction surgery following stage 0 DCIS.

I'm a mighty geek. I love me some Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica (old AND new), anything by Joss Whedon, spectacularly bad movies, and the old-school cheesy goodness that is Irwin Allen and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

I'm an amateur musician, and I favor Irish flute, piccolo, and guitar as my primary instruments, with a bit of octave mandolin and bouzouki on the side. I'm learning a bunch of Irish and Quebecois tunes and am on the hunt for more!

I'm a big fan of Atlantic Canadian folk/trad, and a huge fangirl for Great Big Sea in particular. I post a LOT about that!

And I'm also passionately in love with the entire genre of Quebecois traditional music--and for the groups Le Vent du Nord, De Temps Antan, Genticorum, Les Charbonniers de l'Enfer, and La Bottine Souriante in particular! All this awesome music is inspiring me to improve my French, so sometimes French will show up in my status updates. (Note: I make no promises that the French will be GOOD! ;) But I'm trying! Francophones, please by all means, correct my French!)
Bragging rights
Author of two released novels, with three more on the way; breast cancer survivor and survivor of too much other medical crap to recount
Work
Occupation
Day job, QA Engineer; also, I'm a novelist, with self-published work as well as a trilogy with Carina Press!
