Yesterday we took our kids to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Arts) and used our NexGen membership for the first time. It was our first time visiting as family and we had a great time. NexGen gave us free membership for both kids and parents and kids got to create two art works and visit the Boone's Children Gallery. Here are some facts about LACMA's NexGen program.

This past weekend we celebrated Elise's 10th birthday. We didn't throw a big birthday party for her because she doesn't do well in social gathering with a lot of people. Instead she prefers smaller groups with people she knows more intimately, so we spent the weekend with family- her favorite aunts and uncles. We ate Korean bbq in Koreatown, blew out two birthday cakes, hosted a birthday dinner for family and enjoyed each other's comp...

My recent blog post in celebration of my daughter's 10th birthday.

http://www.mommy-diary.com/motherhood/2015/3/26/ten-things-i-learned-from-my-special-needs-child
Ten years ago, my life changed drastically. I became a mother. Not only that, I was a young mother fresh out of college with no mommy friends or knowledge of motherhood. All my friends were working towards their dream career and meeting cute boys while I was trying to figure out how to change diapers, soothe a crying baby and breastfeed in the dark at 2 am. I was utterly alone and lost- but I was a mother and I was determined to be the ...

Hi everyone! So glad to find this community of Asian mom bloggers. I've been searching aimlessly for a group like this ever since I started blogging. So glad to connect and I can't wait to get to know all of you through our stories and comments.

Today I'll share a post I wrote on my 10 years anniversary. I hope you enjoy it! http://www.mommy-diary.com/marriage/on-our-10-year-anniversary
Ten years ago on this day, I said I do to my husband, to be his lawfully wedded wife through thick and thin. We were friends since sixteen years old so I knew him fairly well. And I was certain he was the right man for me. He was sweet enough to drive an hour to drop off a cup of Starbucks at my door step during finals week in college, nurturing enough to take care of me when I was sick with high fever and body chills, and understandin...

Take lots of pictures, sing a lot of songs and pray that God will guide you through another day. You're building a strong foundation for that day, that one day when your door finally opens. #motherhood   #mommydiary   #mommylife   #mommyblogger   #womenwhowork

Your time will come.

This morning I woke up with a bible verse in my head. The one that goes something like this. A Time for Everything There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,  a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,  a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatt...

Pain is a natural part of life. As long as we keep our eyes and hearts on the rainbow, rainy days are no longer unbearable....

One afternoon, I dusted off my camera and began taking photos around our home. Corners, objects and remnants that remind me to count daily blessings. #motherhood   #mommyblogger   #mommydiary

One afternoon, I dusted off my camera and began taking photos around our home. I captured corners and objects that often go unnoticed and unaccounted for. This simple activity helped me to realize how much love, memory and meaning sit in all parts of our home, and helped me to see all the reasons to be grateful.  Here are some snippets of our home.

Check out my new Beauty & Fashion section! I'm currently hosting an awesome giveaway for Exuviance Retinol Concentrate. (Full size $75). #mommyblogger   #beautyblogger   #giveaway   #beautyproducts   #beautytips

http://www.mommy-diary.com/review/2015/3/4/exuviance-super-retinol-concentrate-giveaway
Hi everyone! Today I have an exciting giveaway I want to tell you about. Do you guys use retinol as your daily skincare regimen? I started using the prescription strength Retinol about a year ago (About $120 retail) but found it too strong and harsh for my skin. It does make my skin feel more supple and brighter but only after it makes my skin peel- which can last anywhere from one to four days. There were times when I put on a littl...

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I'VE HAD A WEDDING RING AND TWO PAIRS OF SUNGLASSES STOLEN BY THEIR NURSES. Allcare provided respite care services for my daughter since last year. Since then I've had at least 6 nurses coming in and out of the home, all not reliable nor trust-worthy. I've had my wedding ring and a pair of Chanel sunglasses STOLEN from my home and always had a hunch it was their nurse. I had no proof so it was a loss. Just yesterday I found another nurse stealing my sunglasses from my kitchen counter. Because of our prior experience, this time we knew we had to catch the evidence. We did. We found my sunglasses IN A BAG IN HER TRUNK and filed a police report. The owner James tells us the next day that it must've been our special needs daughter who somehow put it in the nurse's bag. In short, he refuses to take responsibility for any of these and continues with lies and false defense. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. DO NOT TRUST THEIR NURSES, THEY ARE THIEVES. DO NOT TRUST JAMES, HE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF ACTIONS OF HIS OWN NURSES. Now my wedding ring is gone and I can never forgive myself for trusting these people. BE CAREFUL PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS.
