I guess a bunch of posts that G+ should have let go through got moderated over the last few weeks, and a bunch of others may not have shown up in my moderated queue for several weeks (I blame the changes Google made to the system a few months ago) so I cleared some of the newer ones and then pretty much cleared the rest because they were probably not relevant any more.

If there is something you have posted that you didn't see show up but still want to be up for discussion go ahead and repost it.

Yeah, going to attach my name to this Mea Culpa as well, since I haven't been active moderating since new years either.

So at about 47th Avenue and Thunderbird Road there are a bunch of cops out in front of one of the houses with their rifles pointed at the front door of the house. All I can think about is if the guy in that house does start shootin he's going to hit all the cars that are driving past on Thunderbird Road. If they were that worried about the guy in the house opening fire maybe they should have closed the road off so traffic couldn't drive by.

Marvel is having some major fun with their "Secret Wars" comics. Now they are using parody characters based off the 2000AD comics, calling themselves "Boss" instead of "Judge", and marvel characters instead of " Dredd". Add that to their evil version of the "Justice League" called "Sinister Squadron" and bringing back a lot of the characters from failed lines it really is adding up to enjoyment for the comic geek in me. The whole series is like a bunch of different "What If" comics.

Having Arnold Schwarzenegger give me directions through Waze almost makes having to get up at 4 in the morning worth it. Almost.

Five in the morning and it was so humid I felt like I had to swim to my car. Not looking forward to the sun coming up and heating it to 110 degrees.

I had to drive back the way I had come before and passed those police again. You can see them using their trucks for cover as they are pointing their rifles at the house.

I think I'll do a search and see what was going on.

Tried digging up something but nothing has come up on any searches.  Glendale has a crime list by neighborhood but it hasn't been updated since July 19th.

Best short film I've seen in a while.  It's like a dark version of Groundhog Day. :D

Yeah, I'm sharing food (what, this isn't fucking Instagram?), but there is a reason!

I love me some stone fruit, especially peaches, and this is like a culmination of my food loves, steak with a peach and chard corn salsa. So damn good. This and the fourth of July only pale behind my daughters August birthday as the best things about summer.

So for father's day I got taken to "Butterfly Wonderland". I honestly have a hard time thinking of a better father's day gift. :)

Introduction
I do way to much stuff, no really several of the hobbies that I like to indulge in take up more time then most people do in building their careers.

First I started participating in The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA for short) back in 1990.  For those of you who don't know what that is the SCA is a group dedicated to the recreation of the better parts of history pre-1600.  "What do you mean by better parts?" you may ask, well the best way to put it is all the fun without the plagues.  We dress up in period costumes, wear (semi) period armor, and beat each other with swords and spears made of Rattan.

When I started in the SCA I had a Celtic persona named Kort Redfern (persona can be best described as sort of a RPG character only instead of being built with dice, they are built with history books), but after taking a break after my son was born I decided to do something different when I came back and went with a Japanese persona and took the name Yagyu Tametomo.

Now even though I don't play in the SCA as much as I used to I still help people make armor and clothing for their Asian personas as well as read a lot about history.

Now if that wasn't enough to take up a good chunk of time I also like to tinker with gadgets.  If I'm not tweaking my Android phone, I'm putting together a solar system, modding a Nerf gun, or trying to figure out the best way to take a good picture with a crappy camera.  Have you heard of some cool new hack?  Tell me and I'll probably try it.

Next I'm also starting to make costumes for things out side of the SCA, turning my crafting skill from there to things like Halo or Gears of War armor and clothing.  Some would call this cosplay, but honestly at this point I haven't worn any of my costumes out so I don't think that definition applies. :-D

And you know what?  I also like to write!  (If you have made it this far you probably are thinking to yourself "You Don't Say!" in a very sarcastic manner.  You know you shouldn't be so sarcastic, it's beneath you).  I have had a few things published in the past (all poetry in defunct magazines, but dammit it counts) and currently I'm writing for Angry Men Movie Reviews, and looking to start putting fingers to keyboard for some Android sites.  We'll see.

And lastly, but most important, I'm a Dad.  All of these other activities fall to the wayside when I have a chance to just hang out with my son Cortland (16.5), or my daughter Salina (2.5).  They are the pride of my life and I love them with all my heart.

So that is me in a nut shell...

No not really, I'm to big to get in a nut shell and if you did somehow find one big enough to fit my fat ass it wouldn't look anything like that.

I guess it would be more accurate to say that is me on G+.
