I am so glad that I let Clover (Trifolium repens) grow across my old patio, the bees love it , it looks good and feels great underfoot (when the bees aren't around!).

A strange one this. I have never seen a Pigeon/Dove with such markings before but it looks a little like a Feral Pigeon that has had a colour change.

Not the best of shots as I was shooting handheld through a dirty window. :(

Anyone have any ideas?

Day#3 of the #ArtChallenge.
There a many colourful characters around Portchester with nicknames such as Big Dave, Railway Mick, Mick the taxi etc. and in this shot we see One-Armed Dave, or the Bandit, relaxing in the late Spring sunshine outside the Red Lion pub. Dave gets his nickname as he had polio as a child which has left him without the use of one arm.

Well, a combination of a dodgy Virgin Media router, a busy day, lousy weather and too much alcohol meant that I missed yesterday's #artchallenge but my nominator, the great +Annette Junge Daugaard  said it was okay to post past images, so I have spent today reminiscing about pics I took some 3 years ago.

This led me to the Sammy the Squirrel series, which was a hand puppet that the kids in my Wife's classes at the local primary school (ages 4-7), used to take home at weekends. we decided during one half-term break to do a series of pics where Sammy went on some adventures and this is it, for my day#2 #artchallenge !

Actual 'Art work' to be resumed tomorrow, hopefully. :)

Day#4 of the #ArtChallenge as set by +Annette Junge Daugaard

Nothing too fancy here, just a series of lines and objects that I found interesting. :)

Nearly forgot that I am meant to nominate someone as well, so I would like to challenge +Mark Hall  to post at least one image per day for five days, simply because I haven't seen enough of his work recently.

Story
Tagline
An altruistic empath with a love of photography and nature.
Introduction
Born in Portchester, went to Manor House, Castle Junior and Portchester Community School.

Went to Cornwall School, Dortmund for A-levels, worked at Haslar, then for John Brown and lastly EMC Computers (UK) Ltd.

Becoming infatuated with G+ and photography and have been snapping with Minolta SLRs since I was 10. Usually nature, often birdlife, sunsets, all flora and fauna and now wanting to expand my horizons into macro, portrait and street photography.

Looking for a good lottery win to release my spirit (or a generous benefactor!)

I felt compelled to write a review to counter Poppy's appalling one as I have been using this establishment for well over 20 years now and have never had nor seen an experience such as the one that was described. The atmosphere is always friendly and the whole shop behave as one big family, with many young employees learning their trade and going on to have successful careers or starting their own businesses. There is a core backbone of excellent hairdressers/barbers that have happily been there for many years and the waiting room is often well stocked with people waiting for their favourite, although all are equally capable. My entire family have been regular Customers and both my kids had their first haircuts here, accompanied by a lollypop reward afterwards. My little lad (now 17) has had a range of styles from mock-mohawks and close shaved crops to careful preservation of his now precious fringe. So, in summary, if you want a technically challenging, fancy style, ask them and I am sure they will give you their honest opinion and know their own limits and will advise accordingly. If you want a good, honest, family hairdressers to suit the entire family, go to PJ's and I don't think you will be disappointed. Just ask the generations of families and loyal customers that return week after week, year after year.

Not really a review but I have just found a letter that I wrote in 1978 when staying over on a school trip - Glad to see that you are still doing a fantastic job this many years on. Some great memories! :)
