Great article Tim but so sad to see this happening in my old hometown of Leeds (and I'm sure elsewhere around the world). Has there been any official word from GMB support that they are looking at how to prevent / fix such obvious fake review abuse? Surely they MUST be looking at the issue.

Just a quick Friday question if you don't mind...

I've been digging through review articles but can't find anywhere a reference to what users consider the most "trusted" review score. i.e. users don't want to see a rating of 5 and 5 stars, the best score is 4.6 (or something like that).

Can anyone help? I know it was mentioned at last weeks Advanced LocalU and I need a reference to show clients.....so they don't just think it's me making things up...you know what clients are like! 😉

Start with a search for "Brand + City" and send your score to +Mike Blumenthal

Google is doing everything it can to keep searchers at Google, rather than sending them off to other pages on the web. It wants to give searchers a complete picture of the things it has found to be most important to them right within the search results. This is the new home page for your brand at Google!

Take a look at how well you are managing that new home page. Are you taking advantage of all the features that you can to present the best picture you can of your brand to searchers.

The scoring is just opinion but is meant to reward you for features that stand out on the page and attract attention, show you in a good light, are helpful to searchers and improve the businesses engagement.
