change going on in the way we interact with commerce... media, mobile, etc... more change in last 5 years than lst 50. wheres retail going in nect 5 years.

tesco introducing augmented reality stuff..... interesting...
 
user exxperience drives sales in fashion and grocery verticals.
 
platforms: 35% users do browsing research on smartphones, only 5% doing purchases on mobile, down to trust and ux.
 
connectivity and payments are the main issues.
 
tablets are faring better, seem to be seen as laptop replacements.
 
consu,ers seem to expect to see recommendations on shopping sites....
 
consumers like having ads targeted towards them rather than random ones, uk consumers anyway, pointing to issues about privacy.
 
futures... shopping where and when we want to. e.g. amazon experimenting with pick up points in london... fulfillment will need to be faster
 
growth of brand experience centres: places for people to get hands on with goods... e.g. nike and appple. e.g. q&a sessions with celebs in apple stores.
 
putting the shop into peoples pocket. rise of mobile usage. ebay do 10% of trade on mobile... planning to do 1/3 of business on mobile by 2013.
 
concession goes multi-channel.... e.g. ebay brand stores. get in front of where the buyers are, wherever that may be, facebook, pinterest, etc....
 
dynamic advertising formats - augmented reality.... tesco. .. (problems switching screens, techie shakes his head.... finally.. nope no signal... then.... )

this looks cool.... looks like an ad from tesco so far...

use of a marker, e.g. tesco club card... choose product you want to see and via augmented reality you can see how it looks... requires webcam? all in 3d, can... rotate it.... etc...
