Great idea. I would love to take this to the Arctic, although carrying the extra weight might test my endurance/patience. I'm filling that form in!
Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 1:30 PM. We're working to build the very best map of the world, and we'd love your help to do it. Today we're kicking off a pilot program that enables third party organizations to borrow the Street View Trekker and contribute imagery to Google Maps.

My team mate Robert Pettersen makes the news! Telling all in Oxford about our polar adventure
MOST people choose sunshine and sand for a trip, but Jericho resident Robert Pettersen is going where no-one has ever been: the Pole of Inaccessibility.

Sometimes words don't do the beauty of nature justice. Sit back and drink in this time-lapse video of Norway. Then book a ticket to Oslo and go visit it.
In terms of timelapse videos, they don't come much more beautiful than this one. It is a scenic, wondrous journey through Norway, a country that has more than its fair share of breathtaking landscapes. Sit back and enjoy this 5+ minute short film that will leave you wanting more.

Great project but wouldn't the money be better spent on fighting the causes of the risk to the landscapes instead of capitulating to the idea that they are doomed?
This video is a teaser-trailer of sorts for a project put together by a team of filmmakers who want to capture some of the world's most endangered landscapes in order to preserve them for future generations. They took their cameras to a number of beautiful locations, many of which are threatened ...

A fascinating insight into the world of insider trading.

Germany 1 -  0 ISDS

Thank you from the rest of us unlucky enough to live in states that value corporate profit over their citizen's well-being.
On the eve of a summit between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and European Union leaders, Germany has signalled it’s putting the Canada-EU trade deal on hold. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) was supposed to be symbolical...

The Shackleton centenary
100 hundred years ago this month, Ernest Shackleton and his crew of 27 men, set out from Plymouth in the U.K. aboard their ship, the Endurance. Their destination was Antarctica, where Shackleton and his team hoped to become the first men to make a land crossing of the frozen continent.

Andy Madeley: adventurer for War Child, writer, public speaker. Show off.
Introduction
Life is too short not to do what you love. Most people know it, they feel it in the core of their being, yet so few act upon it. I like to think am one of those few.

After long deliberation (and some wine) I have boiled my list of loves down to three specific things:

  • Raising money for War Child
  • Partaking in exciting adventures and challenges
  • Writing
My latest adventure is walking to the Arctic Pole from February 2015. The Arctic Pole is the furthest point from land in the centre of the Arctic Ocean and the expedition is a world-first, this is the last significant place in the polar regions yet to be reached on foot. Look out for more information coming soon!

I've written an account of my cycle from London to Sydney for the blog: The Cycle Diaries and as a columnist for The Telegraph Travel website (See the links to articles below).

In-between concocting new adventures and writing The Cycle Diaries book I perform talks about my adventures and raise money for War Child.

I want to empower those who have not yet taken that leap of faith in themselves, to do so. If I can help I usually will, so let's get in contact!

Yours in wonderment,

Andy Madeley
