I'm really hard put to agree with Rand and will probably scrub myself raw later for it, but he's correct.  There's a vast chasm between isolationism and sticking our remaining fingers in the garbage disposal that is Iraq, just to see if the results are different.  If it doesn't work, do it more is the current GOP mantra which leaves me befuddled why Paul doesn't want to do this.

In a small way, I agree with him BUT two wrongs don't make a right, though in this case two wrongs  may end a career.  Happy trails former (and probably future) fat man.

There's still time to get yours in time for the prosecution and sentencing.

So is it now the Opie show?  Just another example why you should step back from the keyboard and think before you tweet, especially if you're in the publics eye.  Then again, he's been fired before and their show is not setting any SiriusXM listening records, so this could just be a publicity stunt.

12 people are injured in a food truck explosion and there's already talk about regulating them for safety.  Around 30 US citizens die per day in gun violence and our only answer is less regulation and more guns.

This is for Mara's Too in Wantagh. Unfortunately, there isn't an a G+ account for there (yet?) . We ate there last night for the first time and absolutely loved the experience. The wings were top notch as were the fried pickles. My kids had the pulled pork and the brisket. Both were very happy. I had a burger and it was one of the best I've had in years. Around $10 with fries puts it in the 5 Guy/Shake Shack price range BUT the burger I had last night easily blows them away. The tequila selection is great, enough to get me in the door all by itself. Add to that an attentive owner and friendly staff and you've got a hit here. We will be regulars...I think if someone were to design a restaurant just or me? This might be it.

Old style delis have disappeared in the onslaught of Subway. Fortunately, this one survives and even thrives. A real local "joint" run by warm and friendly people. The food is great, the staff is great and the place is 70's LI forever! Real bread with good texture, not that super soft "fresh baked" substitute. The $7.50 (average price) sub is a way better value than any $5 footlong. My biggest regret? I've lived in Merrick for over 15 years and it took me that long to "discover" My Hero. Though I had head of it before, it took the enthusiastic recommendation of an All Island cab driver taking us home from LaGuardia Airport to get us to go there. Thank You!!!

Best restaurant in town by far! The price is fair for the quality served and the service was on point. The menu is eclectic and inventive. I had the hot an sour soup. Excellent! My only complaint strangely enough is too much pork belly. I would have preferred a bit more of the soup itself. I don't think I've ever felt "too much bacon" before. The maple glazed tot's were awesome. My wife had the Lamb Barbacoa on special and it was outstanding. That they were packed on a Monday night speaks volumes. One word of warning, the parking lot is extremely tight and many in this area still drive absurdly large SUV's. To our knowledge, at least 2 cars were hit while we were there including ours. No real damage, just a couple of scuffs on our brand new and to that point unblemished Sonata. Still worth going, but I suggest parking on the street and avoiding that lot even if you have to walk a fair bit!

Beautiful view and this place has become very special to my family. It's not a destination in itself, but if you're in the area it's a must see!

This is a former Subway location, the name change occurred well more than a year ago. Inside, the store still looks like a subway with one major exception. The subway menus have been covered by new menus that look like they were printed by a home laser printer. The sandwich names have been changed and the prices are higher, but it's still a subway in appearance. I can't comment about the food. Why? When I arrived Sunday @ 1:00pm, the doors were open but no one was in the store. I yelled hello several times and waited a bit, but there was no response or appearance from any store employee. If I were a dishonest person, I could have taken anything I wanted including the register. I left in frustration and saw a woman pull up to the store. I went down the road and found a Quiznos in Freeport. Didn't even know Quiznos was still around. They were quite busy too. As I was leaving I saw the woman from the Longuyland parking lot coming in, so I assume she also found no Longuyland employees either. Maybe this is a new concept? Self serve and self pay subs? update 2/26/14 Mercifully closed. Good riddance!

Very similar in operation to Shake Shack and BurgerFi, but inferior to both. The location is well appointed and the staff was fine. While the burger meat itself was great, giving Shake Shack a run for its money, the quantity was small, the bun was soso and the fries were weak. As for value? It's not there. My family of 4 got a burger each, 3 orders of fries (one of each) , 2 self serve soft drinks and 2 shakes for the kids. The total was $54. The burger quality was superior, but 5 Guys isn't bad (much better fries!!!) and is easily cheaper. For $54, I expect a sit down meal with full wait service, not order at a counter. Since we live much closer to this location than either Shake Shack or BurgerFi and considering reputation, I was hopeful this would be a similar experience that would save me the trip to either. I was disappointed!

Needed a room in York for a night and it had to have a pool for the kids. We didn't need to be right in town or by the beach, nor did we need a view. For the $117 off season price with 2 queen beds and included breakfast? This place fit the bill. There were hiccups. Though the well worn room was generally clean, the top of the (for a hotel, really cheaply made) closet unit (credenza?) was covered in a thick coating of dust. maybe a short room attendant? I'm a bit over 6' and it was readily apparent. As others have mentioned, the bathroom design is a bit strange. The overall room is very large, but the area set aside for the tub and toilet is tiny, made even worse by an inward swinging door. When sitting on the bowl, the tp roll dug into my side...it's that small...cruise ship small. Whomever designed this place 40 years ago or so wasn't very good at their job. The beds weren't particularly comfortable, but I prefer a very firm mattress and rarely find hotel beds comfy. The breakfast was par for the course for this type of feature. I've seen better selection, but the staff did keep things stocked and clean. We were there off season when the hotel was far below 100% occupancy. I think the room set aside for breakfast would be grossly inadequate in both size and design for a fully booked in season weekend morning. The pool itself was fine. Thought the room it's in was dated, the pool itself was warm and generous in size. Would I stay here again? For a night, possibly two? Absolutely! If I were coming to York in season for a vacation? Probably not.
