Beach One of the longer beaches on the South Coast, Seven Mile runs for just over 7 miles (11.8 km) from Black Head down to the mouth of the Shoalhaven River at Shoalhaven Heads. The large Shoalhaven River has been supplying fine sand to build out this beach and its 1.5 km wide low barrier making it one of the younger beaches in the state. Because of the fine sand, particularly in the northern end, the beach has a wide low gradient. The northern ...

Awesome little church located right in the heart of scholarly Cambridge. If the tower is open it's well worth the two quid to walk up the claustrophobic steps to the top to enjoy a unique viewpoint. My only complaint is that the wire meshing they have erected greatly restricts photographic angles. Still worth visiting though - bring your zoom lens to capture some close-ups of quadrangle colleges.

This is the classic viewpoint for the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It can be accessed by road via figure 8 loop or on foot during Botanic Garden opening hours. It is a very over-subscribed spot, particularly at sunset, when hundreds of photographers crowd the rocks to capture a classic Sydney dusk. Coach-loads of tourists are deposited here on a continual basis and there aren't many hours of the day or night when you'll have it to yourself. If you're a photographer visiting here to shoot the sunset be warned that the Botanic Gardens close at about the same time and you'll have a very long walk if you got to Mrs Macs via the Farm Cove perimeter path. The location is definitely worth a visit, but be prepared to do battle with selfie-sticks and middle-aged Chinese men smoking exceptionally strong cigarettes.

Couple of years ago, when they were hungry for business, Mezzas was awesome. The food is still good here, but the service isn't brilliant. It also takes 'em 45 minutes (at best) to cook a pizza. Go when it's quiet and you're laughing, pay a visit on a Friday night and you'll be wishing you'd ordered a starter or eight.

If you're not into pretentious baked goods and just want an honest home style bakers that sells loaves of bread, cakes and savoury pies then this is the place for you. The pies here are great, freshly cooked and always tasty - never had a bad one. The steak, cheese and bacon pie's awesome is the butter chicken and the spicy chicken pastie. For my money the bread here is far superior to the stuff they sell for twice the price in the showy gaff over the road. At weekends and in the holidays the queue here often stretches out of the shop and down the pavement, but it's worth the wait. One thing to note - they don't have EFTPOS - it's cash-only.

Proper little Berry secret this place, tucked away behind a hedge next to the Southern Motel. There's been a few cafe businesses in this particular building, but the current owners are far and away the best, serving first-rate cafe food, cooked exceedingly well. I think it's fair to say that the best breakfast in Berry is at Littlefork. Choose from a stack of pancakes with maple syrup and bacon or vegetable fritters or perhaps eggs benedict with a heroic stack of bacon. Lunchtimes are equally awesome - give the Hippy Burger a go with a milkshake and put a smile on your face. Service is excellent here and there's plenty of space to sit down inside and out, with a cute courtyard area out the back. Definitely worth a visit, or two, particularly if you're after something more substantial than a latte and a croissant for brekkie.

If you're fussy about your food, then this is the place to come. Run by a 'retired' successful Sydney restaurateur, the Emporium is a deli/cafe with an awesome cosy interior and excellent food. This place gets busy early, so if you are planning on trying one of their delicious wraps, then arrive in plenty of time. I'd also hazard that the coffee here is the best in town. First-rate service, friendly staff, just don't eat all the Cajun Filo rolls before I get there.

It's a bit hidden away on Albert Street, but Just Delicious is consistently one of the best cafes in Berry. There's only a couple of tables inside, but lots of room out the front and since it's away from the main highway, a very pleasant place to sit and relax. The food is great here, I can particularly recommend the Thai Chicken Balls, the Pumpkin Tart and the Vegetable Fritata. You can pick any main and have the salad of your choice to accompany it. The coffee's great too and the service always polite and speedy, even when it's very busy.
