There seems to be a lot of people like me who can appreciate all aspects of Miles' career. But recently I've read some reviews from jazz fans who seem to think that Miles' early-70s and mid-70s albums weren't jazz and therefore weren't worthy. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and not everyone likes everything by every artist but some critics come across as very snobby.
Based on this I have two questions:
1. What do you think about these possibly snobby attitudes?
2. I don't see the same criticisms of Herbie Hancock (who I also love) and his move from hard bop to jazz-funk. How did Herbie escape the snobbery or am I just not seeing it?
