For all sorts of reasons I ended up creating almost every single part of the Moonstone Equation from the ground up. If this sounds like a great idea to you I've written this article describing the process.

So, I spent 8 years making this game and now I'm trying to get it through the mysterious Greenlight process on Steam. Perhaps you lovely people can help?

It's been a very long time since I posted anything on here. But now, after 8+ years of development my little game project is finally ready to promote in the hope of getting it through Steam Greenlight and into players hands. Please vote and let me know what you all think.

I don't often mention my day job, but when I do it's because I helped make something I'm very proud of.

Just when I thought my engine was as stable as I needed it to be, this level throws up a pretty big bug in my renderer. The bug caused this level to often generate over 16000 DirectX API calls per frame (if you're an engine coder you'll know this is a pretty crazy number). A few hours of work later, it's down to about a tenth of that and runs nice and smoothly again.

This is probably just another reason not to write your own engine anymore.

That's it I've finally finished fiddling with this level. Obviously it extends (significantly) beyond the bounds of this image but it still took longer than I'd like and required far too many custom image tiles than any single level should. Happy with the result I think though. Also, Those making those little machine animations is far too addictive.

Just started blocking out the second to last level I have to build for my game. Here's a section of it. Some of the sprites are place-holder and a couple of the animations have bugs but blocking a level out like this allows me to make sure it's working and conveys the right atmosphere before I commit hours more time to polishing it.

So, I'm still hard at work with all the scripting and dialogue I need but for a change I thought I'd spend a few hours on a music track. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out but it occurred to me that all you talented people might be able to give me lots of useful feedback.
