Motorola reportedly getting ready to launch XT1021 series, could be cheaper than Moto G

Thanks to a new report and several sightings from the FCC and Anatel, we have learned Motorola may be preparing a new budget series under the model XT1021.

+J. Toby Knudsen I don't think it will have an open bootloader but here's the thing: on such a low end device it might be better to stick to the manufacturer's rom if it is optimized for that specific device (and I hope Motorola does a good job on that).

Optical zoom could be coming to HTC smartphones next year

Quoting HTC's resident camera guru: "Optical zooming in a smartphone is not too far off at all for HTC. I can’t give too much away, but within 12-18 months we’ll see huge advances in phone optics"

Amazon expanding Fire TV voice search to Hulu Plus, Crackle and Showtime

Amazon announced today that it is expanding the Fire TV's voice search to Hulu, Crackle and Showtime. Netflix is still noticeably absent from the list.

Crackle is a Sony owned research and development company. Their TV streaming app is free, and paid for through advertisement.

HTC hires the guy who created the Galaxy brand

Paul Golden was Samsung US’s Chief Marketing Officer/VP of Strategic Marketing between 2008 and early 2012. That period overlaps with Samsung’s rise in the smartphone business from a second-tier player to the biggest force bar Apple.
Now he is with HTC.

+Victorio Onate The M7 and M8 aren't held together by duct tape at all. And the M8 is a very solid device, both being water resistant and durable, all without the IP67 rating. Samsung took their device back to 2007 with flaps covering their ports and yet HTC was able to achieve almost the same thing without the need of all of this nonsense. That speaks for something. And the GS5 Gold is called the Band Aid edition because it looks like a Band Aid, not because there is one inside.

+Tierre Jevon what's you're experience with battery life on G2? I've gone several days without needing a charge on my g2. It easily lasts that when not using a lot of screen time. With lots of screen time, it still can easily last more than a day. Easily. It's so good I've never even used the power saving features.
