Webmaster tools virsta - Google Search Console
Announcing Google Search Console - The New Webmaster Tools (Rebranded)

Today, Google officially announced the rebranding of Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) to Google Search Console.

Head over to Google’s Webmaster Central blog to read official announcement…
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2015/05/announcing-google-search-console-new.html

Why the rebranding?

In general, the utility of Google Webmaster Tools no longer applies simply to “Webmasters” but to anyone who is interested in better understanding, and improving, the performance of their online presence, most importantly, their search engine performance.  With recent improvements to GWT, it’s now easier for the common web owner, or administrator, to achieve that, without having all the technical savvy once required of a good “Webmaster.”

So, any new features?

This does appear to be a rebranding effort, strictly, as there was no mention of any new features or functions, as of yet.  However, if you have been tuned into #mobilegeddon (Google’s “Mobile Friendly” update to its indexing algorithm for mobile search results) then you might have noticed GWT did bring some much welcomed visibility to mobile search performance insights - referred to then as “Search Analytics” and is now carried over in Google Search Console as “Search Impact.”  For more on how that feature works, you might be interested in this article by +Glenn Gabe

Location targeting finally available for Baltics!
We are happy to announce that advertisers in the Baltics finally have the ability to define their target audience on a city or county level. This change will allow AdWords clients to select the geographical reach of their campaign, with currently 10 cities available from each of the Baltic states. The feature will be extremely useful for smaller businesses, operating only on a city level, and will bring a positive change in return on investment.

In order to use the new feature, go to your campaign settings and enter the selected city to the location field.
Please see the list of cities that can be found in the location targeting below.

Good luck!
