Tee minus 4 days until #THEGAME

Today's post: The Ten Year War

From 1969 to 1978, two men fanned the flames of a rivalry and made it what it is today. The Ten Year War really sums up the rivalry as a whole, and if you're learning about it, it's where you should start. This HBO documentary is excellent!

I agree with the outcry

Burger King wants to buy Tim Horton's. People were not very happy about it.
Burger King's proposed deal to buy Tim Horton's may come with a side of consumer backlash.

I've recently begun the journey to curtail my shitty money habbits. So far, I've reeled in the eating out. Crazy how much money it saves. But I still live paycheck-to-paycheck. Keep grinding.

If you put your nose to the grindstone, you can start moving towards financial prosperity.
We talk a lot about personal finance here at Lifehacker. But if you're living paycheck to paycheck, getting out of debt and starting a successful budget may seem impossible. The Simple Dollar's Trent Hamm has been there. Here's his advice on how to break the cycle and live a happier financial life.

This should add some spice to the Red River Rivalry for the next couple of years!

Raiola did not seem like this kind of person to me before. Disappointed that the Lions all seem to be immature thugs. Can't win a Super Bowl like this.

I've lived here for 3 years now and can say that the experience is mostly positive. The layout of the townhome is pretty good; bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom to keep the living space separate from the "community" space. The bathrooms are pretty good, although I can't say I'm a fan of the jacuzzi tubs in the upstairs bathrooms. They get moldy very quickly because they constantly trap water. The default shower heads are a pain as well, so we ended up getting a better one at least for our upstairs bathroom. Having a washer and dryer included is also a nice amenity. Harold, the maintenance guy, is punctual and solves your problems although he has a pretty negative attitude towards college students and he's not shy about throwing the attitude around, so he can be difficult to get along with. Snow removal is really the one gripe. They do plow and salt, but it's often done kinda half-assed and not until around 2pm. It results in a lot of ice build up in the parking lot over the course of the winter and it gets pretty treacherous. The complex is located nicely, such that it's quieter than most of the street and the people living here tend to be fairly quiet although I have noticed an increase in rowdiness over the last couple of years. Although it's still not bad considering the location and is still better than anywhere nearby. All-in-all, for the price, I felt that I got pretty good value living here the past few years and would recommend it.

Waldo's is a mixed bag of good and bad. I'm here almost every Tuesday for their Team Trivia which is enjoyable, and have enjoyed Thursdays and the occasional Friday as well. I would not come here as often as I do if I did not enjoy team trivia so much. Pros: -Kitchen/Food. They make excellent bar food at decent prices. -Atmosphere. One of the few "tavern-ey" places in town. Many other college bars in town have a club feel to them. -Specials. Thursday's $1 burgers and $7.50 pitchers are excellent. Tuesday mug club is great as well, if they ever finish your mug (they still give you the special price anyways) Cons: -Service. I cannot tell you the number of times I've had bad service here. It's only ever been average at best. -Limited draft beer selection. They only have 8 taps. And they classify domestics as only "Big Beer" (Bud Light, PBR, etc...) and not locally brewed beer like Bell's. In my opinion, if I come for the tavern atmosphere, I need a stellar beer experience.

I've been here on several occasions and purchased many games here. Always love going in and often just kill some time by browsing their merchandise. I'm not a comic book guy, but half of their entire store is dedicated to comics and my comic book friends agree that their selection and prices are pretty good. The other half is dedicated to games, which is the side that I stick to. Mostly table top games. Things like RPG supplies (D&D and such), board games, miniatures, Magic the Gathering, card collecting supplies, etc. They do have a selection of video games and some vintage systems and accessories for sale (they have an Atari and Sega system in their video game display case). Also, like any good game shop, they have a couple of sections of game tables set up and they run in-store gaming events; and if they have nothing scheduled, you can just come in with a game and play on their tables. Sometimes they'll even post to their Facebook page that some people came in and started playing a game and invite people to come and join. All around, this is a great local game shop. The people that work here clearly love doing so and the place is just a delight to shop and game. I recommend this place to anybody and often drag friends who've never heard of the place just to show them, and they come away liking it too.
