Why telling your kid they are smart may not be the best approach.

Does anyone who use Pulse News Reader know how to get your twitter stream on it? Can't seem to figure it out...  I wonder if LinkedIn removed that capability.

And it keeps moving along... I would love to see Firefox integrate this project as well.

Portable Native Client now available in Chrome 31. Compile C or C++ to architecture-neutral bytecode for web applications at native speed.

I'm glad I'm not alone in my concerns.

Well what do you know. I've been having a problem for a while where web pages won't completely load. I have to refresh the page a few times to get it to work.

Turns out that the "Samsung Configuration Center" which comes preinstalled corrupts your browser cache. Uninstalled it, and now everything runs great. Thanks Samsung!

Interesting. Makes me want to buy from Patagonia
Black Friday is when most people entice customers to buy more, more and more. One clothing retailer is doing the complete opposite.

I've been learning how to use LINQ recently. It's freaking awesome. That's all I have to say!  Can't wait for some free time so I can play some more with it.

I created the framework for a text adventure game using only batch scripts tonight. It was fun! You can walk east, north, west, or south. You can look, and you can try to kill stuff.

My wife and I visited the "National Museum of the American Indian" this past week, and one of the videos highlighted a movement to recover some of the indigenous languages of Mexico. I suppose this is a direct result of their work:

Mexican TV to broadcast a soap opera in the Mayan language.

A soap opera called Baktún is the world’s first Maya language telenovela.

The show has 24 episodes, which are playing on TV in the Yucatan and also on YouTube.

There are approximately 750,000 speakers of Maya in Mexico, but the language is dying out.

Bottom line: If you're looking for historical information about American Indian's, look elsewhere. The museum for whatever reason (political?) focuses almost entirely on what's going on with the American Indian people today. The signage/interpretation in exhibits is confusing and feels incomplete. Moving from one exhibit to the next would often jump tribes or geographic regions and provide no explanation as to why. Besides that it is a beautiful museum, and has a fun cafeteria. Cafeteria is a bit expensive, but there are many different food choices representative of different regions of Native American cuisine.
