Posting for my friends at +Digital Democracy

Travel with us to the cloud forest of Tarapoto, Peru. Collaborate with indigenous leaders from Ecuador and Peru to build tools to help them protect their territory and defend against environmental contamination. Help us build a mobile data collection app that can be used by grassroots activists around the globe to document environmental and human rights abuses.

Philosophically, the universe has really never made things in ones. The Earth is special and everything else is different? No, we've got seven other planets. The sun? No, the sun is one of those dots in the night sky. The Milky Way? No, it's one of a hundred billion galaxies. And the universe - maybe it's countless other universes.

Tonight was the first time this summer I got out to do some star shots.  Still having some issues with the infinity focus on the 16mm - 85mm.  But my 10.5mm Fish will focus on almost anything.  Use the 10.5 for this shot but had to crop the top (North)....it picked up some power lines behind me.  The bottom pf the shot is just west of South.  I brought my compass.  I was lucky to find this spot.  It is really dark and down in a bit of a valley so there is very little spill over light from Hamilton and Burlington....and lots of noisy frogs in the nearby pond.  I have often described this spot as the quietest spot in  the Burlington area.  Will be back again this summer.  Plus I need to refresh myself with the fine art of processing these.  +Darryl Van Gaal +Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn

Science behind walkabouts
Stanford researchers found that walking boosts creative inspiration. They examined creativity levels of people while they walked versus while they sat. A person's creative output increased by an average of 60 percent when walking.
