A Compass, Flashlight, Tweezer, Mirror, and piece of string with washer. There are a few that require a bottle of water.

On this week's GeoSnippits Reboot Podcast. Show us your Geocaching Tools of the Trade (TOTT). What must have gadgets, gizmos or thing-a-ma-bobs you have in your geocaching pack. What items are so cool to have when you need them and are so glad they are there when you do?

We will gather up you contributions to the discussion and bring them on Thursday's show.

Thanks for your input as always.

A few things that come in handy that I pack out of the ordinary are: extendable rare earth magnet with LED tip, UV light, and E-6000 Adhesive. The magnet has helped bring out/down some of those hard-to-reach bison tubes. The UV light has proved invaluable with night caching clues and finds, and the E-6000 will fix some of my dreaded "Oopsies" when I may have popped off a vital piece of a container that needs to be repaired.

In the paper log, even if its an empty book, I normally just write my name and date.  I'll record a TB drop or pick-up, and add a thanks.. I'll mark down a milestone if I have one.  However no one can read my handwriting so leaving more is just a waste.  I save my stories for the online log where people can get access to them, and understand them.

Geocachers want to know.
How many geocaches found should a geocacher have under their belt before placing geocaches themselves.

We know this is a controversial subject and that is why we are asking your opinion. Appreciate your thoughts.,

I'm half way between a simple acronym and a short paragraph.  If it's a decent size log book I'll at least write out thanks for the cache, nice job, etc.  Pretty much a full sentence or two.  One cache I found was at the bottom of a steep hill.  I wrote something to the effect of "Wow, I  hope I can make it back up!"   I went back to that cache with a (then) newbie cacher a few months later, and saw that under my log, the next person wrote:  "Me too!!"

I have been to several other Andy's and this particular one is tired and run down. The food is okay but they have shrunk the portions and the staff don't exactly act like they even want to be there. Shame it used to be a favorite spot of mine.

If you hit the wait staff on a good day it goes well. However, there tends to be a lot of mistakes. Food is always good.
