Block party was HQs solution on how to deal with Geowoodstock being so close to them 5 years ago and they didn't have the office space to handle all those people touring the Lilly Pad... it was fun so they kept doing it but the last block party took ~6 months of a Lackey's full time attention and then lots more effort from the lackeys as it got closer to the event.  Not that it wasn't an awesome event but that is a very large amount of effort required from the Lackeys and it is time they are not working on making new and interesting things for the game as a whole.  Do we need a block party that moves around?  Isn't that Geowoodstock?  Except it is at a park instead of a block and has far more vendors and tends to handle feeding people much easier.  I showed up for lunch at this one around noon and one of the food trucks was sold out and the others were on about a 15 to 20 minute wait for food after ordering.  If someone wants to host a block party that goes mega then cool but the two things that set the HQ block party apart from other megas would be first that they had a jillion Lab caches.  If another event could have that many lab caches that were as diverse and interesting they could compete for the cool factor.  The second thing they have is the HQ location so they have the treasure box and a bunch of lackeys that you wouldn't have at a block party somewhere else.  The rest of it would be the same.  GIFF is done but they could do the same screenings at another venue and they did last year at Going Caching.  The pub crawl... yep can do that somewhere else if they were not limited to 10 lab caches for the mega and they had someplace with enough brew houses to work with.  Quikry or interesting locations to take people to?  All kinds of places have cool locations to tour people.
Do something different, hold an around the world block party kinda like the WWFMs and let anyone that hits the required will attends or other qualifier have the new WWBP icon for their events.  Have them require approval like they are for the GIFF screenings.

In this Geocaching vLog Wife Amy the Headhardhatress and Andy HeadHardHat Smith literally go to Hell to find geocaches. Okay it's not all sulpher and Brimstone. In fact it's Hell, Michigan with an ice creme store, spooky nick-knacks and a putt-putt course. If you want to go to Hell in a handbasket or see if Hell actually freezes over this is the place to be.
