Come join us in Seattle for the next Local U Advanced
http://blumenthals.com/blog/2014/04/23/local-u-advanced-seattle-june-10th/

Here's what attendees in Philadelphia said:

How intimate the group is and the ability to talk to the presenters before, during and after presentations. All the presenters I spoke with cared about answering my questions and did not brush anything off. This conference is just like the small classroom experience any good college tries to attain. – +Zach Stone

The content! Speakers also communicated that content clearly and with enthusiasm (Wil takes the title as “Most Enthusiastic”). But a very close second was that it was limited to 60 attendees. It allowed a more intimate setting to meet and network with fellow agency members and the speakers. – Annie Stern of The Social Media Factor

It’s tough to beat participating in a Q&A session with Derek (from Google) – he provided clarification on many issues important to my team. Also, the discussion with Blumenthal and Mihm answered many questions I had.+Kerry Fager

Just had an interesting discussion with a potential big brand client about how the perception of value is just as, if not more, important than actual value when it comes to SEO. Because there is so much ignorance of SEO and because there is so much $ invested in other tactics, you end up competing against other internal teams for resources, even when the other teams are massively inefficient at spending those resources, and they have spent years building up the perceived value of their tactics.

Because the SEO budget was so small relative to say PPC, it was basically being ignored even though the PPC ROI was totally overinflated because the agency was spending a ton targeting brand queries

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. It's hard to understand Google's incompetence in dealing with this more effectively. He's probably right about myopia. Also, lack of interest, agility, and the fact that it's not threatening their ad revenue, would be my bet.

Hopefully some Pleasanton residents on Google Plus will see and share my thoughts on how we should start dealing with the water crisis:

The (minor) good news is that Pleasanton is will institute a mandatory reduction in water usage in May. Hopefully this will start to change behavior.

Has Google done anything to improve the spam situation since Brian Seely got all that media attention for spamming the Secret Service and FBI listings? Find out in this interview with Map Maker expert +Dan Austin.

And the fact that they didn't use my name in one of their fake reviews has nothing to do with my rating...

I have worked with Will and Search Influence numerous times over the past few years and have been extremely satisfied with the results. Whenever I don't have capacity I often send clients over to Will without hesitation. He recently helped one of my clients grow organic traffic by about 40% over a few months via content creation and linkbuilding. I'll +1 him whenever Google gets around to adding +1s to Place Pages (which btw I can't believe they haven't done yet).
