TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE MOON, explained via a science nerd and a bad song.  This made my night.  (The video, that is.  I won't be staying up for the eclipse.)

When I was young, we would always stand in front of my grandpa (+Ralph Wetmore) and grandma (+Mary Grace Wetmore)'s fireplace for pictures.  I'm not sure why.  The fireplace and the house belong to someone else now, but the memories are indelible.  (with +Jonathan Shinn and +Aaron Shinn)

Yep, a lot of folks seem to object to the subscription model.  I really like it.  I like that it financially enables Adobe to continually develop software, and that I get releases like this continually, instead of once every 18 months.  And I also like that I can now use software that I wouldn't have paid for before, like AfterEffects and Premier Pro.  All in all, it's expanded my creative tool set.

To paraphrase the diagram, I think time and quality will always be on opposite ends of the spectrum. Great things require the appropriate amount of time to properly develop. I would reframe the compensation factor as an issue of mutual sustainability. Both the creative and the client have to find equilibrium in the relationship or else it won't last long enough to achieve greatness. I'd also like to clarify that "greatness" can be utterly subjective. For some, anything you can churn out by their deadline is good enough. It's a disposable ware which I would argue isn't sustainable for someone trying to maintain artistic integrity. I'm not sure if that accurately addresses the original comment but that's what came to mind.

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I made this picture.  The tree was found next to a dumpster behind the Taco Bell in Quincy, Mass. somewhere near Christmas.  I had just gotten a Nikon D70, and was looking for things to shoot.  10 years can make such a difference!

The missing manual! I wonder if there's a chapter on solutions.

Why is the world of education so enamored with Comic Sans?  Didn't teachers get the memo 15 years ago, along with the rest of us, that Comic Sans is (and of right, ought to be) killed?!  I see memos, papers, official requests, and all manner of inappropriate information defaced by this font in the education world.  Why?!

Information about CS's horrid and much-ridiculed history here: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/comic-sans.

Take the Comic Sans pledge here: http://www.comicsanscriminal.com.

I'm really good at choosing drinks from a menu I've never tried before. I have a remarkable degree of success with that.

We have worked with Dr. Grey for years now, and have always been treated well. He and his staff have been compassionate with us through the death of several pets, and we'll always be thankful. Highly recommended!

Bud and his staff have taken really good care of our insurance needs. We've been using his services since we opened our business in 2006.

I stopped in one afternoon, after lunch, and asked if they sell individual cupcakes. Sadly, they don't, but they DO serve individual cake slices. I tried a few cakes, and the tres leche cake stands out as a special favorite. It was very moist and oh-so tasty. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Reedley. The gourmet grilled cheese sandwich is a must-have, but a bit of a guilty pleasure. The buffalo chicken sandwich is pretty good, and the sour dough bowl with soup is good. Don't forget to save some room for Ice Cream!
