10-months in the making, but we launched the Awesome Controller kickstarter last night. Awesome Controller lets you use your modern, wireless Wii and/or PS3 controllers to play your NES, SNES, N64, etc. consoles. No wires. No juggling 3 sets of old half-working controllers.
If you have any friends/family who still play their old consoles or who are interested in #arduino
+ Bluetooth (we have a shield version), I'd really appreciate a re-share
or a mention.
Some friends and I built the prototype using an Arduino during a startup weekend event, and now we're ready to see if there are actually folks out there who wants this to become a real thing that really gets manufactured
. We've had fun playing Mario Kart 64 with wiimotes, but I'm hopeful that our work might be useful to more than just the five of us.
The entire thing is open source
(both hardware and software) and we'd love to get enough backers to actually get some of these in peoples' hands.
