It looks like the ATF is looking to ban M855 rounds. If I understand this correctly, possession of the ammo will not be a problem, but production and commercial sale will be halted. If you're sitting on a stockpile like some of us are, you're probably pretty interested to see what this does to the price of the stuff.

BATFE recently decided that shouldering a pistol with a SIG Brace renders the firearm an SBR. While reading an article about the new (again) charger pistol, I can't help but wonder how that logic applies to the bipod. It might be a bit awkward to use it as a foregrip, but the SIG Brace is not a perfect stock. I'd like to see them apply their new guidelines across the board so that we can start challenging them in court.

ATF tried to regulate sale of muzzle loaders during the Brady days. It didn't work. As cute as the "pistol" is above, I personally think of a handgun as being concealable, carry able, quickly brought to the ready and a last resort at close range (25 yards or less).

The ATF has a job to do and they have their peculiarities. I will let others provoke their wrath. They don't like concealable guns that aren't handguns. They don't like handguns that are more accurate to shoot because they are stable with either a shoulder stock or a fore grip. That's just the way they are.

I carried a rifle most of the time in the Marines. Occasionally I carried a revolver or a pistol. In a real fight that couldn't be avoided, I wanted the rifle.

MDA has put out another accidentally pro-gun ad. I bet if a lot of us were asked this same question, we'd answer "I carry a gun, dummy."

Also, "zero children were killed last year by imaginary monsters." I'm guessing the implication here is that more children were killed in gun related violence than by imaginary monsters. Hey, how many kids died after falling from too high? How many kids died from drowning? From drinking the stuff under the sink? If we're going to play the "THIS IS THE REAL KILLER" game, kids actually have a lot more to be afraid of than Adam Lanza.

+Andrew Moursund, is this video from MDA? It doesn't appear to be... and if you go to the Sandy Hook Promise web site that also doesn't seem to be affiliated with MDA. Further, it doesn't even seem to advocate gun control, instead recommending gun safety and education.

There's a lot of rather vague stuff on the site, behind which they could hide an anti-gun agenda, but mostly it seems okay.

Never forget that gun control has deep roots in racial oppression. The beginning of California's turn against firearms freedom was a response to young black men arming themselves for protection against racist cops. These days, mainstream media has no problem showing us the aftermath of racially charged gun violence, but will not acknowledge the firearm's role in protecting vulnerable minorities.

If you're looking for a surefire way to keep poor, young blacks from accessing the tools they need to defend themselves from the state (or criminals or whatever), you need only look as far as gun control. You can accomplish this with an outright ban or by manipulating import laws to keep prices high. Either way, you're a racist, gun grabbing scumbag.
They call themselves the Huey P. Newton Gun Club, named after the co-founder of the Black Panther Party For Self Defense. Like the defunct organization

To further clarify, the article has nothing to do with Black Panters other than that the Huey P. Newton Gun Club is named after one of the founders of the original Black Panthers.

The club has no affiliation with the hate group NBPP.

"I don’t think this is an upturn or downturn. I think there has been a Great Awakening of the American public regarding their constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms . While there will be seasonal ups and downs — otherwise known as business cycles — I think the Smith stock surge is a reflection that America loves handguns and are making them part of their daily lives."

Gun control advocates may have the advantage in the media war, but public opinion isn't shifting in their favor. The more they kick and scream about how evil guns are, the more once-uninterested Americans will become invested in practicing their rights. Have you introduced someone to shooting this month?
Everyone knew it had to happen eventually. The big post Newtown boom in firearms sales had to come back to Earth. Credit cards would be maxed out. Savings accounts would be drained. People who had rushed out and payed double … Continue Reading

I tried IDPA for the first time last Sunday. I had never done anything like it before, so I was pretty self-conscious, but it was a BLAST. It's a game, first and foremost, but it's also some of the best practice you can get. The pressure of the timer, I'm sure, will also serve as a stress inoculation as I continue to compete. I took it deliberately slow this time, making sure to avoid procedural and safety violations, and scored below average as a result. I'll speed it up next time.

I'm hooked!

Dugan reviews the Sig P320. I recently started carrying this pistol and a little bit of confirmation always feels great. Also, CarniK Con amuses me.
