The quick answer is yes. But why? The brake system is, in theory, a closed system that should not take on contaminants. In practice, the fluid is designed to absorb moisture so that the water doesn't attack the material in the brake lines.
When the fluid reaches its full saturation point it stops performing the way it should. It will boil at a lower temperature than what your brakes may be operating at, and will start to allow water to rust the brake components.
When we "flush" the brake system we remove all old fluid and replace it with new, high quality DOT 4 brake fluid. This will increase the life span of the lines, calipers, and other components in your brake system.
If you haven't gotten your brakes checked in a while, give us a call at Lakeside Service Center. We perform our inspection free of charge and let you decide how you want your car to be cared for.
