Very happy to report that my TextExpander to iOS/OS X Shortcuts converter still works! It's relatively smart in the way that it doesn't even try to create shortcuts for things OS X and iOS can't do. Fill-In snippets, for example.

Please read the instructions! And please give it time! You might have to adjust the delays (I set them to 1 now). It's awfully, awfully slow, but it does its job, and it does finish.

These power ups greatly augment the YouTube experience. Download helpers, checking out what other YouTubers do, restyling the entire page, etc.

I thought you might like this. We have a post on the blog with power tools for YouTube. Restyling the website, download helpers, checking out videos, tags, etc.

Speed reading app for iOS?

I'm looking for a really good speed reading app for iOS. Something that teacher fixations too. Most speed reading apps seem to focus on displaying a single-line only.

Thank you!

Just tried it. That app is just terrible. Doesn't react to taps Couldn't figure out how to decrease my accidentally set WPM of 550. Also displays single-line only. As mentioned, that's not what I'm looking for.

I'm sharing one of my most incredible Hazel tips on Mac Automation Tips.

Also: 10% off the Hazel video tutorial.

http://www.macautomationtips.com/hazel-personal-file-manager/
The classic Mac automation program, Hazel, is a powerful resource for filing and managing files, including pictures, PDFs, and documents. In my case it’s documents—specifically invoices and letters. Hazel does the dirty repetitive work of managing my documents so I don’t have to. Read on to learn about one of my most favorite, and little known Hazel tricks. …

Same here. I would like to keep all the statement-renaming rules together, all the HOA-related rules together, eg. Would help when transferring to a new computer or upgrading rules to reflect new features.

Hey Power Users,

Are you also affected by the bug where apps on iOS 9 just won't finish installing?

I found a workaround to make the app finish, and I made a video for you to follow. Actually just tap-and-hold the icon until the download is done. Check it out:

Does anyone know of a really good video player that has a nice sounding higher playback speed? I dislike QuickTime, therefore Safari, when playing YouTube videos. Chrome, therefore Google's own, sounds so much better. Pretty much any video player I've tried uses one that's similar to QuickTime, meaning the voices sound washed-out. Google's (the one on YouTube) keeps the pitch and tone very true to the original. I'm looking for something like that.

I've tried:

Movist
Pro Player
Switch
VLC
MPlayer

Open for suggestions. Can I play videos directly in Chrome, so that the player will use YouTube's player and playback speed algorithm?

Hello Mac Power Users.

I came up with a way to handle day-specific information in OmniFocus. I use a method that I named "Day Projects".

http://zettt.com/blog/day-projects/

Day Projects are basically projects that are named after the date they are due. For example "Mon: 28. 12. 2015", "Tue: 29. 12. 2015".

This opens up a lot of nifty possibilities. Like filing from the inbox. Just type "mo", and the Monday project comes up. Hit return, done. When the calendar is synced, the tasks show up there too.

I hope you guys enjoy this. My blog post has some more context and information for this.
