I bought a #Google #nexus7
during my stay in NYC last week and here are my initial thoughts (coming from iOS)...Pros
Sharp screen. I have an #iphone5
and an #ipad
2. Screen isn't better than the iPhone but most certainly the iPad 2.2.
Widgets. I gotta admit it, I love the Feedly widget. Other than that, I have about 2 standard ones. It's not a deal-sealer, but more of a nice feat.3.
Multiple accounts in Google Play Store.Cons:1.
Multi-tasking is slow. Switching between apps can sometimes take about 10 seconds.2.
Lack of multi-touch gestures. Why am I not able to switch apps with gestures?3.
The apps... Oh boy, this is a big one. I'm gonna have to brake it down.3A.
Google Play Store - This utter piece of shit is filled with apps my 6 year old daughter could've made. And all the good ones cost more than on iOS.3B.
Google Play Store's lack of tablet apps - First off there's not many apps available for tablets, or rewritten for tablets I might say. Second theres no way at all to find apps for tablets. And third, if I think I've found one, there's no way to tell for sure if it is. Most of the time I have to look for "HD" or "Tablet" in the apps name, and even then I'm not sure.3C.
Movies, Music and Books not available in Sweden.3D.
Many apps suck. A lot of the apps feel unfinished, buggy or just plain stupid.
So... there goes...
I'm sure there's a fix for some of my issues and I'd love to hear from you how. Until then, I'll just use it to read #instapaper
