We spent the last two Saturdays in Big Sur, and I pulled together some of our footage in this little video. Featuring Pfeiffer Beach and McWay Falls, two of my favorite sights in Big Sur!

+Andrea Mesterhazy It is a shame that Chromebook early adoptors are being excluded from this offer (those with Samsung Atom models).

Did you know you can press your Chromebook's power button for one second to quickly sign out and save your session?

If you have to run and don’t want others to look at your #Chromebook screen, try holding the power button for one second, it quickly signs you out and saves your current session. #chromebooktip

Chromies, if you've ever closed a tab by accident, you will love today's Chromebook tip. Simply use shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T to bring back the last tab you closed. Pretty handy!

Here are a few new features to be excited about it in Chrome OS Beta version 34:
- Voice search is now enabled within the launcher. Open the launcher and say “OK Google” to activate.
- Google Drive offline backup is now enabled after first login.
- Onscreen keyboard (an accessibility feature available under chrome://settings) provides on-screen access to keyboard and Chrome OS features (top row of buttons) with a pointing device. Simply click on any field that requires text input and the on-screen keyboard will appear.

Not on Beta? Try switching to the Chrome OS Beta channel if you're feeling adventurous. You can always come back to the Stable channel if you change your mind! Instructions for switching to Beta are available here:  https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1086915?hl=en

+Kenny Strawn Again Google Now is not yet in released state, you still need to ENABLE IT with a flag change in chrome://flags - that means its NOT released/stable and still experimental.   It will be RELEASED when it no longer requires you to use that flag.  So it will NOT be in the RELEASE notes as part of this Stable RELEASE.

My day has been made!  I love casting a fireplace when I'm relaxing at home. Chromecast + Play just keeps getting better...

#chromecast   #googleplay   #fireplace

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we’ve got the perfect way for you to set the mood. When you listen to Google Play Music on your Chromecast, you can display a cozy fireplace on your TV while your music plays in the background. And yes, it’s just as awesome as it sounds.

To turn this on, click the Gear icon in the upper right corner in Google Play Music on the web and select “Labs.” Find the “Chromecast Fireplace Visualizer” lab and click “enable.” Voila! Next time you cast music to your Chromecast from your phone, tablet or web player, you’ll see a crackling fire instead of album art. Get started: http://goo.gl/egn1At

So stay in, sit back, and crank up those love songs.

Introduction
I'm the Community Manager for Chrome OS. On the weekends, I’m usually beach bound or hiking.

When I'm not talking Chromebooks, I prefer to be outdoors, drag my camera with me almost everywhere I go, have a serious thing for coffee, prefer blogs over magazines and non-fiction over fiction.

A few of my favorite things:
  • Hiking in Carmel, Big Sur, and the Marin Headlands
  • Travel photography
  • Adventure
(All posts are my own and are not representative of my employer.)
