Sometimes I believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
Introduction
Science. Communication. Visual art. Psychology. I want to revolutionize education. My main research interests are creativity, intelligence, autism, exceptional ability, x-altruism and sociopathy, and what motivates people to change their behavior.

Passionate about creative collaborative projects that integrate science, art, communication, and tech.

Freelance science writer, author, and rabble-rouser. You can read some of my work on psychology and neuroscience on Scientific American here, here, here, and here. You can find re-posts of a lot of my blog writing on IEET.

I am a freelance strategist and scientific consultant, and public speaker. I investigate the science behind human behavior and motivation, using this information to create strategies that incite change in others, on both an individual and corporate level.

I'm also having fun on the bleeding edge of Artificial Intelligence research at the intersection of psychology and technology, in the emerging field of Robopsychology, or AI Psychology. I investigate creativity, intelligence, and learning, in both humans and machines. Someday I hope we can replicate human creative cognition in AI.

I do all my own stunts. Without a net.

Open Science. Knowledge is power.

Some of my art can be viewed here.

I'm a little obsessed with brains, glittery things, and Triceratops. Not necessarily in that order.

Also, I'm a huge nerd.

Did I mention science?

+Ryan Crowe wrote a really nice piece about me for the 'Unofficial' Google+ Recommended Users Spotlight. It makes me sound pretty rad. He's pretty rad, too. :)

Bragging rights
In college, I was the secretary of my honor society, a cheerleader, and a Bacardi girl.

still its not so hard to basically find any article if one spends some time on it and has a good way of searching.

as yur remark was on Im not so privileged to have access to these articles for free.

the authors themselves publish them often here and there on the web

then again for me its a hobby to find the articles i want to read.

Creative people have 'messy minds'. But that doesn't mean they have a mental illness.

Genes linked to creativity could increase the risk of developing schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, according to new research. Genetic risk scores were examined in a sample of 86,292 individuals from the general population of Iceland. Creative individuals were defined as those belonging to the national artistic societies of actors, dancers, musicians, visual artists and writers.

Hey, you only have to tell me once....
An EEG study shows chocolate can increase brain characteristics of attention and significantly affect blood pressure levels. Historically, chocolate has been recognized as a vasodilator, meaning that it widens blood vessels and lowers blood pressure in the long run, but chocolate also contains some powerful stimulants. Researchers wanted to investigate if people who consume chocolate would see an immediate stimulant effect.

America's best teachers rap their algebra lessons, use music to teach Kafka and find other ways to use their own creative interests to teach their students, finds a new study. Examining the classroom practices of National Teacher of the Year winners and finalists, the study suggests successful educators aren't afraid to push the boundaries by incorporating real world, cross-disciplinary themes into their lessons.
