Tips for Safe and Mannerly Walks with Your Dog
Having the pleasure of sharing my life with two dogs of vastly different size and type has provided me with an opportunity to see the dog world from varying perspectives. My dog Nora is a 10-pound, scruffy, little terrier with a jaunty spring to her step and an almost constantly wagging tail. Approachable is her middle name. Moka, the Doberman Pinscher, makes about as opposite a first impression as you can imagine. All 70-pounds are carried about...

I had a terrific experience with Empire Divers. After deciding to get certified for a trip to the Bahamas, I visited the shop and two people there spent lots of time walking me through the steps. They gave me very detailed information about my options for PADI certification. I signed up for the class which consisted of an at-home study course with books and two DVDs, then a visit to the shop for an in person course and the written test. Next step was meeting one of their instructors at the pool on 14th street. I really appreciated the instructors' patience and good humor. He had a wonderful way of setting me at ease and helping me feel confident with each step of the process because he was very calm and detailed. I also purchased some equipment at their shop (mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuit). Again, was really appreciative of their patience and the fact that they definitely did not try to push anything beyond what I as a beginner would need. This is a group of super experienced, friendly, and patient people who are clearly passionate about scuba diving and helping others to be able to appreciate this sport.
