There is an intelligence threshold for operating a stove, above which all kinds of alarms should sound when placing a battery on a stove.

I was anxious the entire time thinking the thing would explode an melt the kid's face forever.

If that battery had exploded while the sugar was still fluid, it would have sprayed super hot molasses all over this kid's face. He'd make the news instantly.

How unbelievably stupid.

I used to try 4k but with my 10 megabits/s connection, for instance, this video stutters every 5s which is unacceptable. Not many people have 15 megabits/s laying around and it seems in 2013 the average American's bandwidth was at under 8 megabits/s.  This is where 4K will get us, not the subscription, the bandwidth. Having a Panel and Netflix will not be enough.

What am I doing wrong?

Google support: Hi there, I hope everything is ok with you. How can I help?

Customer: Hi, I need to fill out the billing preferences form, but there is no link or menu to it.

Google support: Ok, I'll contact the team responsible for that product and get back to you.

The next day.

Google support: Hi there, I hope everything is ok with you. I contacted the team and you need to fill out the billing preferences in order to activate your account.

Customer: Hi, yeah, there's not link to the billing preferences.

Google support: Ok, I'll contact the team and get back to you.

A few days later.

Google support: Hi there, I hope everything is ok with you. I heard back from the team and they say you need to register a billing preference, which you can do in the billing preferences menu. [insert detailed instructions on how to reach the billing pref. menu here].

Customer: Yeah, right... That's the same instructions on the online docs [insert link here] and the whole problem is that there is no such option in the menu. Either the docs are wrong or there is a bug on the page.

Google support: Ok, I'll contact the team and get back to you.

Several days later.

Google support: Hi there, I hope everything is ok with you. I contacted the team and they told me you have to [insert ginormous list of completely unrelated things] and afterwards fill out the billing form in the billing preferences [insert same instructions as in previous iteration here].

Customer: May I speak to you supervisor please?

I must say this is a toned down version, I'm getting less and less courteous towards the latest exchanges.

I'm sure they'll jam their heads in their asses before New Year's and I'll post the actual thread for everyone's delight.

Not even Google (+AdWords Brasil) is immune do Brazilian's unmatched incompetence at everything.

Their support line is littered with a disgusting mixture of canned responses uttered by morons who apparently cannot take 2 minutes off their video game time to read the emails in a thread, and the sheer incompetence of someone providing blatantly wrong instructions, not seen in or, worse, contradicting documented pages as fresh as November last.

Every time I reiterate the quite simple problem I'm having I get one such canned response telling me to follow instructions on the very page missing from the flow described on the public-facing documentation.

I have repeatedly re-explained the very simple problem with the sign up form - the absence of the billing preferences menu - and the person on the other side of the line keeps telling me, after days waiting time, that the solution to my problem is filling out the billing preferences page.

How long do I have to put up with this?

Is this the Google standard of customer support?
