This is what's up.

Everyone's talking about the NSA spying scandal. Let's cut through the mess and get to what's important: What happened, what it means for you, and what-if anything-you can do about it:
The internet is aflame with the news that the National Security Agency may be spying on phone calls and internet access of American citizens, and the possibility that they've partnered with some of the biggest tech companies in the world—Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Skype, and others—to request and access data directly whenever they want it. Let's take a look at what exactly is going on, how long it's been happening, and what—if anything—y...

It's no secret that there's big money to be made in violating your privacy. Companies will pay big bucks to learn more about you, and service providers on the web are eager to get their hands on as mu...

Isn't the root cause of the UK riots that the youth never learned that stealing and violence is wrong? Isn't it a simple matter of reteaching them? Great breakthroughs in aversion therapy. Reteach their bodies how to react via images and a drug cocktail that elicits the proper response. Why not throw in Beethoven's 5th for good measure?

This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Finally, YouTube logging can be disabled. I'm not sure when this feature became available, but if you so choose, you can now prevent YouTube from keeping a running list of all the videos you watch or search for.

Just as with Google's Web Search History, I don't use this information so I prefer to keep the record-keeping to a minimum.

When you're logged into Google or YouTube, a record of all the videos you searched for and watch is logged in your account. You can clear those logs, but up until now you couldn't disable the logging ...

Tom Anderson originally shared:

Imagine you went to sleep with a strap around your head. The strap contained sensors that read your brain patterns/visual memory, and was connected to an iPad-like device on your nightstand. When you wake up in the morning, there's a video of your dreams, recorded on the iPad. Sound like complete and utter fantasy? From the breakthroughs made by these scientists, this sounds like it could become a reality in our lifetime...

If it does ever happen, I'm calling it now: it'll be a new art form, or at the very least, cool fodder for viral videos on YouTube. Who will be the coolest "dream artist" on YouTube of 2025? (Though this article doesn't mention it, I'm guessing it could also one day have sound.)

Update: A different story on controlling your dreams, from Scientific American: http://tinyurl.com/293hg6l

That might be interesting! I'd really just want to see my own. Maybe it would help me with self-understanding and my own subconscious.

I prefer premiere and have for years. I'm an AE user and I just find it easier to find what I need. I usually waste a lot of time in FCP trying to find a feature and figure out how to do what I need. We have a deal at Toolfarm thru the end of October where Premiere Pro and Production Premium are both 50% off. Avid and Adobe are really going after those angry FCP users.

Quite possibly the best car buying experience I've had to date. Jeremy was laid back, let me get in all the test drives I needed, and didn't play any games when it came to the price. I've had nothing but good experiences with Fox Honda through all sorts of situations, and this was no exception.
