Congratulations, you have decided to retire. Finally a chance to accomplish all those great plans you had “when you have the time”. The first thing you need to accomplish is the time table for the change. You need to have a realistic approach as to how long it will take to sell your present home and how long to find your new home. Fall is here which means that the cold winter months are just around the corner. In case you missed it, look over this article I posted last year about making sure your home is ready for winter - http://www.amyshair.com/2014/12/make-sure-new-home-ready-cold-winter-months/

5 Star: Ellen C. "Amy is great at what she does, hence the heaps of accolades and awards she receives every year from the real estate community. We hired her to buy our first home in Chapel Hill in 2010, and she was so good that it didn't occur to us to ask anyone else to sell said home when we had to relocate recently to Canada. After walking through our house, she pointed out areas that needed work prior to selling. However, she was very specific about not spending extra money to fix items that were not going to be important to a potential buyer - for example she would tell us "paint only this wall" in a room. She recommended her "people" and most of the contractors were quite good. She even sends over a designer to advise on staging your home to make it appear more inviting and spacious. As Dan C mentioned, organization and communication can be a bit lacking at times. Several small things happened to us that frustrated us (having to return home during a house showing to open the front door for potential buyers because lock box not working, flyers to advertise home only ready the day we went under contract). However, does Amy get the job done and is she effective on delivering what you want? You bet. She priced the house aggressively and we had an offer in eleven days that was thisclose to our asking price. Her negotiation skills are strong, and she can play hardball if she has to (even though, I feel I should mention that she is very nice). Thanks to her, our house closed exactly one month after it was listed, which was a huge relief given that we had to move so quickly. Amy knows how to play the game, and she plays it well. I would recommend her, in a heartbeat, to any potential seller or buyer in the Triangle." http://bit.ly/1LrT8By

Award-Winning 20+ Years Cary - Apex, Raleigh/Durham agent with REMAX. I tell it to you straight - no fluff. Passionate about NC, sushi & wine.
Introduction

Hi, I’m Amy Shair, an Award Winning residential real estate RE/MAX United professional for the Raleigh-Durham area.  I have been in real estate for 20 years and have lived in the Triangle area for over 23 years.

Despite the challenging economy this past year, I have had great success in getting my clients homes sold, and was even named #1 agent at RE/MAX United Raleigh- Durham Office multiple times in 2012.

I understand that buying or selling a home is one of the biggest investments you will ever make. Protecting your best interests is my top priority.

When representing SELLERS, it’s about Education.

Things like: the right price to ask for, how many showings you should expect, what marketing strategy will work, and what new technologies are available to insure we get the greatest amount of exposure to sell your home.

When representing BUYERS, there is so much more than just getting the best price on a house.

It includes finding which house and neighborhood have the best resale potential, determining which house will work best when you grow your family, and what type of maintenance issues to expect for your new construction or a used home.

Whether you’re an investor,  need a larger home, or desire to be closer to work — I am knowledgeable in foreclosures, short sales, and appraisals, and help my clients navigate all aspects of the real estate market.

So if you’re selling a home — or looking for your dream home — I can help you succeed.

Please give me a call for your no-pressure consultation at (919) 469-6539.
