+Britton Picciolini you should add in your review, you just gave it 5 stars, which was obviously enough to influence my decision. But it is now our duty to help other sushi lovers be introduced to Omakase!

It's raining cats & dogs. Luckily, Herbie has a new raincoat to weather the storm / Chicago spring.

I have finally gotten to the point in my sushi habit where I can trust the chef, which turns out is a great thing since Tanoshii specializes in Omakase - which in Japanese means "i'll leave it to you" and is all about entrusting the Chef. The waiter asked if we had any dietary restrictions, explained that Chef Mike visits the fish market every day and hand selects the freshest fish and designs his menu daily based on those factors. They do not serve soy sauce (although i am sure they would if you asked) rather each slice if fish is accompanied with it's own seasonal sauce - and all were delicious. It is a welcome addition the West Loop, lots of natural light, sleek decor and a knowledgeable staff.

We had a private room for a group event here and moved into the main beer hall following our event. The food was pretty lack luster and nothing was actually good. We tried many appetizers - the meatballs, a weird buffalo chicken salad served layered in a cup (watery on the bottom and off flavor), the pimento cheese with fried bread was not great either - especially the fried bread part. The parmesan fries were the highlight but it is hard to screw up french fries. Overall, go for the beer not the bar snacks.

Sports Page is a really cool dive bar, with a great outdoor patio and totally a hidden gem in Mountain View. Inside it is a hole-in-the-wall type of place, it can take a while to get a drink and it's dark with no frills, but once you get outside there are lots of tables and things like sand volleyball to keep you there for hours! When I was there in January our group choose to sit outside, which was fine since the heat lamps were blazing.

Very accommodating for a large group, we had the back room for our party which was very colorful and sat 25 guests very comfortably. They let us bring in our own party favors and birthday cake and they kept the chips, guacamole and margaritas flowing! I enjoyed their special family recipe, the enjocodada - which was chicken breast in a sour ream chile sauce. The portion was very large plus I had filled up on appetizers and ships, and could have easily shared

This is a pretty no frills hotel, but they do offer complementary breakfast and free (although very slow!) wifi. I did not take advantage of their breakfast service, but they did have coffee and tea waiting outside the elevators which was nice for grab and go. The staff was very friendly and provide a courtesy shuttle to corporate campuses around the area. This came in very handy and my fellow coworkers and used this service daily during our stay. The rooms were clean, although mine had a huge spot of melted carpet where an iron obviously fell - and they are showing their age. Turn down service came with candy being left on the nightstand which was sweet.

Pretty average Indian food, not nearly as flavorful as some of the places I frequent in Chicago. We came here with a large group (about 25 people) and were seated at three tables scattered in a section, which I suppose was the best they could do - but made it hard to talk to everyone without getting up and switching seats. The menu was very meat heavy and although the samosas and naan were good, I would have liked to see more vegetarian friendly options (note: i am not a vegetarian).

I love the hunt for a good deal, and this Nordstrom Rack is one of my favorite places for bargain hunting. They have a huge shoe department and carry a large selection of large size shoes, so it is very nice to have so many options there. When you can find them, many designer clothes and shoes are 1/3-1/2 off and they carry merchandise that was at the actual Nordstrom so you know you are getting good quality on most items. Besides clothes and shoes they have lots of purses, wallets, accessories, hair care products and bedding on the lower level. They usually have long lines for check out but they also offer roaming check out clerks and it's way faster to check out with them.
