I've been thinking for some time about #customerservice  and the ways in which #CooperativeExtension  might use concepts from business in programming.  I've outlined my thoughts and some ways in which I'm going to integrate more tools and technologies into my customer excellence model of customer service.  What are your thoughts on how #CoopExt  is doing on engaging our customers as true consumers?
Is the term “customer service” relevant to Cooperative Extension? The term customer service is often associated with a department, or a task that you excel at or fail at. In most businesses, and in both the private and public sector, generally speaking, customer service is getting someone to the ...

I signed up into this community and while there is a lot of simple how to questions, I also am finding quite a few tips and suggestions that are helpful.  I admit it's filling up my stream right now, but you can manage that in your "notifications" area if you do sign up and it's taking too much space/time for you.

This is a really good way to think about keeping up with information using Paper.li  +Stan Skrabut, Ed.D. does a good job in helping with the steps and examples.  Give it a try to see if it can help you create a way to find a routine to organize your information flow.

Thought this was a good idea.  This blogger (inspired by another blogger) has 365 Days of Glass focusing on the use in k-12 education. Neat scroll though that translates to other areas.

Learning Opportunity  -

Interested in participating in a MOOC on Google Apps, or just for the experience of seeing a MOOC in action?

Very interesting MOOC opportunity on using Google Apps in teaching.  Some of the examples include Google Classroom, but many are just part of the suite of Apps.  I think it might be a good class to also understand how informal education can take advantage of Google tools to teach.  The course is available from November 18 - December 19, 2014 with support from Google Certified Teachers, peers, and content experts.

As interesting is the MOOC method itself for this course.  It's taught over a months time WITH experts as part of it.  Might give some insight on how you mash up experts and informal teaching
Want to bring technology into your classroom? Looking to discover new ways of creating meaningful learning experiences for your students? This self-paced, online course is intended for anyone - of any technical skill level - hoping to use Google's educational tools in the classroom.

Food for thought from the ET4 Online symposium plenary session about emerging technologies versus technologies that emerge (us) to new programs.  My take away on thinking about how Cooperative Extension uses technologies and our thoughts on the term "innovation".
I recently returned from the Emerging Technologies for Online Learning International Symposium where one of the Keynote speakers talked about the word “emerging technologies.” Gardner Campbell (Virginia Commonwealth University) spoke on his perceptions and strategies at looking at emerging ...

Great watch on the influence of the Internet and the online culture of humiliation.  Even more powerful given by someone who was humiliated on a large scale.
"Public shaming as a blood sport has to stop," says Monica Lewinsky. In 1998, she says, “I was Patient Zero of losing a personal reputation on a global scale almost instantaneously.” Today, the kind of online public shaming she went through has become constant — and can turn deadly. In a brave talk, she takes a hard look at our online culture of humiliation, and asks for a different way.

Many people who are using Google Apps and the Google suite of products have a common issue that keeps cropping up - managing multiple Google account login names.  Perhaps you have been using Google for a long time and started...
