ATTENTION GEORGIA: Patients who have to go out of state to get cannabis oil say they will face risks and hurdles even after medical marijuana becomes legal in Georgia on Thursday.

Gov. Nathan Deal will sign a law that makes it legal to possess up to 20 ounces of cannabis oil in Georgia. But patients who need the oil still have to go out of state to get it, because it remains illegal to produce at home.

WASHINGTON ACTION ALERT: Today is a BIG day in Olympia. The medical cannabis bill, SB 5052, is scheduled for a floor vote and we need your help! A bipartisan group of leaders introduced the Patient Protection amendment to the most recent version of the bill last night, and we need your help to get the votes to get this amendment included!
Please take 5 minutes to send an email to your Representatives asking them to vote YES on the Patient Protection amendment (5052-S2 AMH APPL BLAC 080). Without this amendment included in the final House version of the bill, we are asking Representatives to vote NO on SB 5052.

The effects of SB 5052 without this amendment could be devastating. Your quick action to send your Representative our email asking them to vote YES will help us have stronger debate on the floor, and gain more votes for the crucial protections patients need in medical cannabis legislation.

In three key swing states, marijuana legalization is more popular than any potential 2016 presidential contender. That's according to a Quinnipiac University poll conducted in March. More than 80 percent of adults in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida support medical marijuana, according to the survey. Fifty one percent of Pennsylvanians, 52 percent of Ohioans and 55 percent of Floridians also support legalizing small amounts of marijuana for personal use. #safeaccess #mmj #medicalmarijuana #polls #2016
Swing state voters like marijuana better than Clinton, Bush or Paul -- or anyone else, for that matter.

ATTENTION IOWA: More than 50 Iowans marched at the State Capitol on Tuesday to express their support for a new law that would permit a medical marijuana program.

Legislation being considered in the #Iowa Senate would allow for the creation and dispensing in Iowa of the medical cannabis oil found in the marijuana plant. Key state lawmakers said the Senate may debate and vote on the bill this week. #mmj #safeaccess #marijuana #peace4patients

In a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University, a resounding 84 percent of Florida voters said they would vote in favor of a bill to legalize medical marijuana. However, when Amendment 2 was brought to voters, only 58 percent of citizens voted in favor of the bill, just 2 percent shy of the 60 percent needed to enact the law. According to Quinnipiac, it's likely Amendment 2's complex wording likely conspired against itself, as only 14 percent of Floridians polled said they would vote against a legalized medical marijuana bill. #safeaccess #florida #YesOn2 #florida #votemedicalmarijuana

Obviously the poll was wrong and they might have taken that survey at a pot party.

ATTENTION ILLINOIS: Officials issued licenses Monday for medical marijuana dispensaries in Springfield and Collinsville but denied an application in Chicago's Hyde Park. So far the state has issued licenses to about 2,000 patients with qualifying medical conditions, far below initial estimates. #mmj #safeaccess #Illinois #marijuana

The information war about marijuana may have turned a new page with the federal government’s acknowledgment of a recent study that found the plant can significantly reduce aggressive types of brain tumors when combined with radiation treatment, endorsing what medicinal #marijuana advocates have long affirmed as its healing properties. #safeaccess #peace4patients #medicalmarijuana #mmj #mmot #thinkprogress

I worked many E.R. units and not once can I remember treating anyone for anything to do with Marijuana! All traffic accidents and fatalities did have alcohol invloved with them including fights and violent acts. Marijauna was banned because it was taking over the paper industry!
