My husband, son and I visited the American Sector during a visit to the National WWII Museum. When we arrived, the lunch crowd was in full swing, so we waited for about 15 minutes for some bar seats to become available. I had the Crab Ravigote Salad. I wish it had included more leafy greens, but was a good choice nonetheless. We also ordered two desserts to split between the three of us, but one dessert would have been enough.

We had a party of five and they gladley accomidated my friends scooter. The Monte Cristo and Ruben sandwiche's were a hit. They have a special menu for gluten free and vegiterians. I ordered the vegie cobb salad, when it came it had bacon and ham on it. They quickly made me a new salad. The service was a little slow, but I think that was the kitchen and bar staff. Our server was awesome.

from 1-24-11 don't let the 1940's style fool you. the food is first class and the service is excellent. gumbo has fresh ingredients and a nice roux base, spicy but not hot. oyster stew has plump oysters. chicken and dumplings different, but outstanding. cobb salad made with real meat chunks, not processed deli meat. worth another return trip for lunch, or for a meal next visit to the museum.

Only ate here once and it was amazing due to the Meatloaf I ordered suggested by the bartender. I can guess that you're thinking,"blah...meatloaf". It was everything but jut blah... Moist, flavorful, and comforting experience complimented with creamy mashed potatoes (with light gravy) and fresh lightly seasoned thin green beans. A good meal if your a tradition guy like me who needs a starch and veggies with the main meat. Enjoyed every single bite of my meal. The portion size was just right that I was left satisfied and not wishing I had more. I finished off with one of there strawberry (real fruit) milk shake which was good. The place has it's classy style focusing on the WWII Museum which it's attached to. The staff was great and attentive.

The American Sector is a great place to go for happy hour. They've got good prices on beer, wine, select cocktails and some snacks. The service can be spotty, especially when they are busy. Table service is better than bar service but I really like the feel of sitting at their large bar.

don't waste your time. the ww2 museum is great, but you can't get service in here. waited 20 min with barely an acknowledgement.
