Came here for hearty Brunch with my girl and they put out a great spread. Wild mushroom, onion and Gruyere cheese omelet was a great appetizer So I ordered this "Caramel Crunch Brioche French Toast" for adults. Not soggy as you would expect. The rum sauce and banana on top of this Corn-Flake Crusted Concoction was sheer bliss. Never had french toast like this before. My girl ordered the Eggs Benedict which was well worth the noise. Everything was well presented. Were amazed to discover such good food in the area. We left wanting to come back for Dinner; but we were only passing through. If we're ever around these parts we'll check it out again.

I placed a delivery order through Seamless 30 minutes before Amelia's was closing which was confirmed with a delivery time between 11:05 and 11:10pm. At 11pm, I got a message from Seamless that the restaurant was now closed and that my order had been cancelled and refunded. So now I'm starving and everything is closed around me. A good business/restaurant would at least make some special offer to try them again to say they are sorry. Did they do that? Nope. I won't be trying them again in person or via delivery.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for Amelia's yet after coming here so many times. I've tried quite a lot of things off their menu, and everything has been good to where it's become a go-to spot for me (and my parents when they're visiting). As for a favorite, I'd have to go with the Chicken Sauvignon. For drinks, they have a solid beer list where I've been able to find some of my all-time favorites (Unibroue La Fin Du Monde, I love you). Almost every time I've come here has been for dinner, although a lot of my friends also highly recommend their brunch, which I haven't had a chance to try yet. As an aside, this was also the first place I ate when I first moved to Jersey City, and they were able to accommodate my large group of people helping me move in with no problems. It's a nicely designed place, and located right in the heart of Paulus Hook. Staff are always friendly and attentive. I think the thing that knocks one star off for me is just the prices - they're not extremely high but sometimes it just feels to me like they don't fit. Overall, I definitely recommend giving it a shot for what it is - a trendy, casual but not too casual restaurant in the heart of Paulus Hook that serves up great bistro food. Maybe you'll make it a go-to as well!

Surprisingly gourmet foods, we were blown away by the quality of the meals. A little pricey but you won't be disappointed by the quality or the portions.

This is what neighborhood local restaurants should be about. Not a single complaint. Sure, it's not classy, sure it's not upscale, but for a neighborhood restaurant, it has all you need. My only complaint - happy hour prices are at the bar only.

Food was old, Tuna tar tar tasted like it was left out too long, stale crostini... Drinks were good and strong though, so come here to get hammered enough to stand the food basically
