Do you feel grateful for your IBD? I posed that question and after some thought and self-reflection, your favorite advocates gave their answers. Hear what +CrohnieBolognaIBD, +Brooke Abbott, +The Front Butt YouTuber, +Empowering Patients, LLC, and +Ryan Stevens say they're grateful for on the next episode of the #AboutIBDPodcast.

Traveling with IBD can be really stressful so I was able to nab a travel expert with Crohn's disease, +Jaime Weinstein, who gave me so many great tips on this episode of the About IBD Podcast that we finally just had to stop talking! Listen before you pack up for those summer trips because you won't want to miss what she has to tell you about traveling by car or by plane: it will make a difference in how well your trip goes!

I sat down with my friend and colleague +Brooke Abbott on this episode of the About IBD podcast to talk about parenting and #IBD. Well: we got there eventually, after discussing how to clone ourselves, how much our genes are responsible for our path in life, and how we say "no" to people when necessary. It was delightful to talk to Brooke and she will forever be the "Alex Baldwin" of About IBD (you'll have to listen to get the joke!).

Enjoy!

Episode IV of my podcast is ready! I talk with +Ryan Stevens about a video he recently shot about his #IBD journey, what he's got coming up next to raise awareness of #Crohns and #colitis (it might involve swimming), and what it's like for him today after dealing with many challenges from Crohn's disease over the past few years.

Oh, also: he gives me grief because my exercise of choice is running. And he hates running.

Thanks for listening!

I put myself in the category of "hope for the best, prepare for the worst." I'm the woman that has a first aid kit in the car and a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

But where was my first aid kit for coping with a miscarriage? Where was the coping strategy already in place for when it happened to me? I didn't have one. I still don't.

Miscarriage is hidden behind closed doors and almost never spoken of openly. I share my experience and the pain I still feel because women should know that they're not alone and certainly not wrong in the way they process grief over this loss.

Please note this post contains descriptions of pregnancy loss, medical procedures, and strong language.

What is it like to tell a date or a partner about your #IBD? As three IBD advocates, +Jaime Weinstein +Brooke Abbott and +Christy S, tell me: it isn't easy. Find out just how well that conversation goes in the second episode of my #AboutIBDPodcast. #podcast #jpouch #Crohns #colitis #UC

Do you remember that random story that said that a fungus caused Crohn's disease? Yeah, me too, and since it's being shared again I made it the first topic of my new podcast. Enjoy my new endeavor as you're doing your chores this weekend or on your commute tomorrow!

I'm on my way to Orlando for the annual Advances in IBD conference. This is where I get to catch up with the rockstar GIs and IBD advocates and learn what's new in the world of IBD. Janssen is covering my travel and accommodations but, as always, my opinions are most definitely my own. #AIBD2016

Have you ever later reflected on an incident in your #IBD journey and only then realized its impact? It wasn't until I started working with physicians professionally that I came to know the effect patients have on their lives. Your gastroenterologist worries about you--but she might not let it show. Here's a time in my relationship with my diagnosing physician that led me to better understand him as well as myself. (And also, a bit about my love of Big Macs.) #IBDvisible #UC
