This is a cool merging of computational intelligence and human cognition. Caught my eye because it's relatable to a project I'm currently working on, but I also geek out on anything that enhances software ability to improve human decision making and/or reduce cognitive load.
In complex crisis situations involving military situation awareness, homeland security and other time-sensitive scenarios, teams of experts must often make difficult decisions within a narrow time frame. Faculty collaborators at two Penn State campuses and a doctoral degree alumnus from the University have devised and patented a system that merges and finds the "sweet spot" between human and computer intelligence to support timely decision-making...

Awesome people of Orlando (and those willing to travel to Orlando). The 2013 Call for Makers is open. Bring your displays of awesomeness to Orlando Science Center by submitting your Maker application for Maker Faire Orlando by July 21st.
Orlando Mini Maker Faire is a community-organized, family-friendly celebration featuring local do-it-yourself science and technology, art, rockets, robots, crafts, music, hands-on-activities, and more. It's a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.

Mark your calendars for Oct 5!!! +Orlando Science Center was one of our awesome exhibits Year 1 (singing Tesla Coil!) and this year they'll be an amazing partner helping make Year 2 of +Orlando Mini Maker Faire even bigger and better! It's a great marriage of their community focus on learning for life and the maker focus on learning through doing. It's going to be so much fun to experience Orlando Maker Faire 2013 at Orlando Science Center!

Orlando Science Center has partnered with +Orlando Mini Maker Faire and will host the second annual event on Saturday, October 5, 2013!

Event schedule and ticket prices will be announced at a later date.

For more information about Orlando Mini Maker Faire, please visit their Facebook page or their website at www.makerfaireorlando.com.

+Nils Hitze just figured licensing meant some sort of payment for use of the name.  Like most businesses pay for the licensing of a brand (McDonalds, Comfort Inn, etc)

PowerPoint presentations are boring, but don't blame Microsoft. Instead, learn to communicate more effectively by thinking like a writer whe
