When I got to work that Tuesday, I had just returned from the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Orlando. It was a regular day on August 6th, then late in the afternoon I found out that my services were no longer needed and the separation letter was dated August 5th... That's how "they" do you. Got let go on my day off.
No hard feelings because it's been a blessing. I've been able to teach, work for a variety of businesses and organizations, and work on me.
The journey is amazing. Each day is a new adventure. My family, friends and clients have helped sustain me. The most important thing that I've learned and will share is that you have to have FAITH. Faith that you can overcome uncertainty. Faith that life will lead you on the right path. Faith that when one door closes, another one opens.
Daphne Channel and I know that no matter how challenging life is that there is someone else who is facing greater challenges, and ours are really quite small in the grand scheme of life.
Being positive, controlling my thoughts and having a vision have played a huge role in my success. I thank the Universal Spirit for watching over me. For his/her grace, and for allowing me to experience high and temporary low moments.
Life is a classroom, and like Charlie Channel always said, "If you're not learning something new everyday, you're doing something wrong."
Looking forward to what's coming, and if you're reading this, thanks for your attention.
Now back to work!!!
