I always make other people open the wine bottles for me so maybe I'll be confident enough to do it myself now. Also, the people in this vid are hilarious.

UM I had no idea this food truck was a part of a program that employed people who have recently gotten out of prison so they can start their lives again. That is amazing.

Going to Norway ASAP. +Paul Crewdson ?????

Day 2 in Reine, Norway

The weather on our second day in Reine was a bit different than on our first. As Colby Brown Photography describes it, it was "stormy with intermittent sunshine," but that didn't keep us from zipping around to different parts of the Lofoten Islands. It's so cool to see how intricately and thoughtfully the Norwegian people have linked each of these islands. It really is a marvel of civil and structural engineering. Drive just a few minutes and you'll likely jump onto a different island with its own charm and personality.

The three of us spent the day chasing down waypoints of notable areas. One of which was an easy-to-climb hill that provided a perfect panoramic view of the sleepy village of Olenilsøya. Colby, Joe Azure Photography, and I found our own little plot of hilltop and went to task. While the somber weather would likely turn off some photographers, we reveled in it and used it to further tell the story of this amazing area. Now if only we can clear the sky a bit and ratchet up the solar storms to 11 for an aurora light show, things would be aces.

I don't know why, but this video really made me smile. And want Alaskan King Crab. I'm too lazy to do all that work for a Blue Crab.

I am in love with Buddy's Pizza. The best pizza in the state, hands-down. Thick, square-shaped pies with toppings under the cheese and sauce on top. You can't get pizza like it anywhere else. On top of that, their greek and antipasta salads make excellent starters and so do their crispy chicken strips with house-made ranch. Service is friendly and the red-and-white-checked table cloths will make you feel relaxed from the start. Buddy's is my go-to for any occasion, from birthdays with the family to regular catch-up times with friends.

I have searched for a Chinese restaurant to compare to this one and it is yet to be found. The warm bread rolls are just one of the reasons to stop in and you'd be hard-pressed to find an egg roll any where else that's as crispy. Go for the almond chicken or the three-star special and be nice to Alice, because if you go there often enough you'll start to feel like family.

Red Coat Tavern is a must in Royal Oak. The best burger in the state of Michigan. It's big and juicy, cooked just the way you want with shredded lettuce and their secret sauce. They also serve the world's best clam chowder: thick with big potato chunks and plenty of clams. If that's not enough, their super-skinny fries are amazing and the fried clams aren't too shabby either. Inside is red and dark and you feel like you've gone back in time. The booths aren't too comfortable with the super-straight and close backs but with food like this, who cares!?

There's a lot of confusion in these parts about which restaurant in Mexican Village is the best. Well I know the answer to that and it's the restaurant actually called Mexican Village! Unlimited salsa that is so addicting you may want to just pick it up the little bowl and drink from it. A drop never goes to waste. Also the chips are always hot. Service is fine and the food is cheap. I'm always amazed to see how full we are when we leave and how small the bill actually was. But I need to reiterate, this place has the best salsa around.

The real deal. If you want to know what a Detroit coney dog is, this is where you come. No BS, no pretense, just dogs and fries and a countertop. Going to a game? Stop here first.

Hunter House Hamburgers is a classic! Cheap, greasy, no-frills delicious sliders. You'll need at least two. Make sure to ask for some pickles on the side and maybe get a milkshake if you're feeling fancy. Grab a bar stool along the counter in the front to watch the cars drive by on Woodward.
