Make your neighbors jealous of your beautiful garden with this Watering Can that Pours Crystals!
My neighbor and good friend, Debra, made this wonderful garden decoration from an old watering can and chandelier crystals. The light from the sun reflects off of the crystals, making it shine brilliantly. The stream of crystals look like they are pouring out of the watering can’s spout using little more than some wire andRead More »

Try out this fun design on an old T-shirt! Your kids will love making them as a family.
Have you heard of shibori? I hadn’t until just a couple weeks ago. It’s a resist method used for dying that has been used in Japan for many, many years. There are several different ways to shibori; folding, wrapping, twisting and more. I chose the method that involves wrapping fabric around a cylindrical object. IRead More »

This convenient Magnetic Locker Pencil Holder is the perfect way to keep the kids organized this year!
Do your kids have lockers at school? In our small K-8 elementary school, only the sixth through eighth graders get lockers. However, in a neighboring school, all except for Kindergarteners get a locker. Magnets are a fun and popular way to not only dress those lockers up, they are also very handy for keeping thingsRead More »

Have been going here since they opened. They closed for a short period and changed owners, but there were no hiccups. I have never had a problem with this location. The sandwiches are always good, produce always fresh, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and service is quick!

I used to go to Mandino's in Richmond, IL before it burnt down. When the owner decided to open in Twin Lakes I was elated! We love their food, though we have noticed that the Italian Beef doesn't seem as good as it used to be when they were in Richmond, not sure what they changed. The gyros are awesome as are the hot dogs and fries. For a while they were screwing up my take out order almost every time we picked up, but in the last 6 months that seems to have stopped. Was a bit annoyed when they refused to accept a gift card that the restaurant had given me because the employee neglected to sign it (it was only $10, and was given to me because they screwed up my order), but I blew that off. Overall we still love it, just hoping there Italian Beef eventually goes back to the way it used to be.

I LOVE going here. It's one of those places that you drive past all the time and say to yourself "I need to stop there someday"! Do it. They have plenty of samples out to try, and you'll be hard pressed not to find one that you like, if not all of them! Tons of fresh, beautiful produce at really good prices. Lots of Wisconsin cheese, farm fresh eggs and plenty of other goodies. I live only a few minutes away, so I tend to stop often. They are open 364 days a year, only closed on Christmas!

If not for the great prices, I love going here for the friendly faces. They have tons of fresh produce, plenty of bulk foods without needing a membership, and it's great for big families or if you are having a party. It's a no frills place, which I actually like, and as a food blogger, I really like that I can pick up restaurant supply stuff too. They are cash and carry, you can pay with cash or a check, but they don't take cards. However, there is an ATM right inside the door for your convenience. I love the dairy section, and the fact that they do sell a lot of locally grown produce, you never know what will be available. Great place!

I'm a Twin Lakes local, and everyone that lives here knows Manny's. We go to breakfast there every Sunday morning and love it. Be forewarned, Manny is generous, so if you TRULY want two eggs, you need to order one, then you'll get two. ;-) The hashbrown servings are enormous, so consider sharing one. The cinnamon roll french toast is fabulous and the chocolate chip pancakes do NOT need syrup, there's so much chocolate in there, that's syrup in itself :) The view from the restaurant is awesome as it's right across from Lake Mary and the windows are nice and big. Manny's is open year round, so if you ice fish, be sure to grab a bite to eat first. Manny's has awesome lunch too, but they do close at 2:00, so be sure to get in before the doors lock! Definitely a must eat at little restaurant.
