The current book baby that I am raising up to adulthood. Excited to watch as it takes its first tentative steps out of the nest. :) http://actonart.co.za/free-radicals.htm
Zorg has never met another planet quite like himself. He ooo's and aah's and marvels at the stars. The other planets just hang in orbit and spin on their own axis. Zorg thinks it is a little strange, the spinning. He had tried it briefly, once, but found the experience quite dizzying and so he ...

Summer Reading Challenge: Classic Vacation
I admit to being terribly hesitant to reading "The Classics". I am quite convinced that the book will be filled with a kind of archaic, flowery writing designed to hurt my head in the most inglorious way possible. When it came to choosing a book for my Clas...

For my Ghost Town destination I chose to read Jodi Picoult's, Second Glance . An intricate tale of love, haunting memories, and renewal, Second Glance begins in current-day Vermont, where an old man puts a piece of land up for sale and unintentionally raise...

To start of my whirlwind,  Summer Reading Challenge , adventure I decided to head to "A Spiritual Retreat." For this destination I could choose nothing but a Paulo Coelho book. I love his insights into life and the human condition and at only 100 pages, thi...

Yay! Chapter Seven.

Also finally making good progress on editing again. Toddler watching an awful lot of TV. I feel like I should be ashamed...

"The man is a slimeball. Esme can think of no other way to describe him. He is ucky and oozy and every word he speaks is a wave of gross that shivers over her body. He looks well enough; clean shaven with well manicured, swept back hair. Unlike the other men of Rigglebee, he wears a second sheet of cloth draped over his chest. He called himself Mr. Jannis and says he is the Mayor of Rigglebee. The toll gates are his invention, but only a few minutes in and it is clear to Esme that Mr. Jannis does not want to talk about the toll gates.

Mr. Jannis does not want to talk at all; he wants to command."

Chapter Six!

"Professor Ninkum Dimwit is thinking about his wife. Keeping the household in good order is extremely important to Margery Dimwit. She has a schedule of how and when things must be done. The cleaning of the throw rugs is done at an hour that Ninkum firmly believes should still be called night. Ninkum has expressed this opinion countless times, but every Wednesday and right on schedule, Margery will be in the backyard with a rug in one hand and a wooden paddle in the other. Thud. Thud. Thud.

Ninkum is having trouble deciding whether his wife's domestic habits or his injured thigh is more annoying.

Thud. Thud. Thud."
