Sorry to hear about the wasps.  I imagine your humid summers attract all sorts of bugs we don't have to contend with here.  Some wasps are actually beneficial for crops and are brought in by farmers to reduce the unwanted pests. It sounds like you had the opposite problem.  I'm glad you have pretty, low-maintenance trees to enjoy...and a lot less wasps.
