Some of my  favourite #advertising videos http://bit.ly/1ercf3Q captured in my latest blog. Top of the list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLVnNOpzcvo
Creative agencies have produced some masterpieces in recent years. Propelled by advances in both videography and social media adoption worldwide, creative marketing has a wider reach and spread than ever before. A little bit of originality in toying with audience expectations can go a long way in helping a new product hit the ground running or deliver an educational message. Here are some of our favourite campaigns – they’re groundbreaking, inspi...

Colour your brand carefully, not just beautifully http://bit.ly/1KW9ZhR
Guest blog by Nicola Fisher, Creative Director, The Creative Haus, brand specialist Think of a colour, any colour Thought of one? OK, have you thought about the meaning to people of that colour? In reality, colour has huge implications for branding and logos. It needs to speak to the target audience and enhance your credentials or product, whilst also engaging your customers and staff. It’s a lot to expect of a colour, right? So where would you s...

A calamity can ruin a company’s reputation and in some extreme circumstances, can destroy the business permanently. Because of the unpredictability of such events and the tendency of media coverage adding fuel to the fire, crisis management has become an integral part of any strategic PR agency’s repertoire. In a previous article, we covered some of the golden rules for effective crisis communications management – in this article we will provide ...

In a previous article, we discussed how the art of storytelling can be used as a powerful PR tool. In the digital era, we have more communication channels available to us than ever before, enabling us to formulate our PR programmes in a variety of ways in order to make the maximum impact and reach our target audience. Know your audience: As every marketer is probably aware, building rapport with your audience serves as an important foundation for...

Currently there are 288 million active users on Twitter, 80% of which are using their mobile phones to access the site – meaning that they will be receiving the latest updates whenever and wherever they are. Because of this, many organisations are integrating Twitter into their PR programmes, and for those that recognise the platform’s unique offerings and use it correctly, it has the potential to be a very powerful PR tool. Here are some of the ...

Handling the PR for a client that has an interest in getting more women into engineering, I was captivated by GoldieBlox’s Princess Machine video, which tells us that girls deserve more choices than dolls and princess toys.  OK, GoldieBlox is all about selling more toys, but the video has a serious message that we learn our attitudes and beliefs about our capabilities from our cradle.  I liked this video so much, I decided to see how other brands...

http://bit.ly/1I34b5o -  this blog covers different ways to develop #infographics that will be shared.
Several years ago, infographics saw a surge in popularity. However, with everyone under the sun jumping on the bandwagon in order to bolster the presence of their brands, the inevitable happened: the web became saturated with terribly written, poorly designed infographics. While this has led some people to become  disenchanted with infographics, it’s important to remember that a genre of music is not to blame just because the artists within it ar...

While most people are supportive of charitable causes, in order to raise the kind of funds which can actually make a difference to people’s lives, excellently crafted PR campaigns are required. The following campaigns elicit a range of emotions; some are humorous while others are extremely serious, but all are effective in their own way at encouraging people to donate. 1. The Ice Bucket Challenge Last year, the internet was bombarded with an endl...

Messaging is an integral component of any organisation’s PR programme; the type of story you tell can make a big impact on your target audiences and how they perceive your brand. When working within a business, it can be easy to develop tunnel vision to the point where your understanding of the business is dramatically different to that of your customers. This is precisely the point when a fresh pair of eyes is needed. A messaging workshop is a g...

Dip into this blog if you'd like some savvy advice on planning content for blogs, white papers, etc http://bit.ly/1Dgw9nY
Thought leaders aren’t just people who generate content, they’re the people who drive conversations, shape perceptions and influence others in their industry. Creating thought leadership content establishes you as the go-to source for expertise in your field. Established thought leaders become the brands that people trust, the brands that people buy, and the first voices that are sought out. Being a thought leader differentiates you and your busi...

Introduction
I am the managing director of Fortune PR, a boutique-size consultancy formed after 20 years at director in UK and international consultancies including Shandwick Communications and Golley Slater PR.  I have developed and led successful campaigns for blue-chip brands and entrepreneurial businesses alike; and we continue to work for large and medium sized business.

Fortune PR works closely with clients to help them tackle communications challenges.  We knit together business, PR and social media strategies to create solutions for communications problems that hold back business success.  But not all campaigns start with a problem!  We also launch and promote clients' products and services.

Every business has stories to tell. We find the elements that capture the imagination of customers, prospects and the media and build engaging PR campaigns around these.

Our sector experience covers leisure, food, property, retail, B2B, charities, recruitment and technology.

Althea is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the agency is a member of Public Relations Consultants Association.  It is rated by Recommended Agency Register following positive client reviews.
