Menu
A fusion between the best catches from local fishing boats with classic Italian dishes. Wahoo crudo, fresh oysters, short rib lasagnette, fresh fish, and more!

Altamare Restaurant celebrated 12 years as a local South Beach favorite this past July 2014 - a fusion between owner Claudio Giordano's two passions: Italian cuisine and fishing. These aspects come together in a menu that showcases the best catches from local fishing boats intermingled with classic Italian dishes.

Our décor reflects South Beach style however, the food is anything but pretentious. The likes of wahoo crudo; fresh oysters; short rib  lasagnette; and beautifully presented fresh fish are just a few items that keep locals coming back.

We are located on the Western end of Lincoln road mall, just off the beaten path. Stray from the overly-commercial glamorized retail stores and tourist trap eateries, with a short hop across Alton Road to discover this local favorite.

Big happy hour menu, including 1/2 off oysters; all sushi rolls $6

Excellent food, reasonable price. Not touristy (despite the fact that we were tourists). Very happy.

Although this place is a bit small the wait staff is superb and the chef's attention to detail in how the food is cooked can be tasted with every bite. Me and my friends ordered a variety of dishes, some that I recommend are the tuna tartare, the oysters, and try out the hog fish which can be considered exotic for Miami first timers but it is a great treat. The wait staff was excellent, and the drinks were relatively cheap for SoBe standards. Also, the other guy's review about the 16.5% tip, of course the tip is included as it is in almost every other place in South Beach! I tipped more because the wait staff was that amazing and the food tasted wonderful.

excellent food well prepared, with a professional staff, if you happen to be an attractive lady do not let the owner corner you and try to shove his tongue down your throat, instead try to stick to flirting with the protection of a group of friends around you and score some free wine

Host is a crook! STAY AWAY! Ordered a bottle of wine ehich the host told us cost $30, later found out that it actually cost $50! When confronted, the host claimed that "it was a small difference" and refused to lower the price!!! Also, asked for a slight variation for a scallops dish, ended up paying double! Food waws average at best and completely overpriced. Definetly not worth it.

Equisite Mediterranean fare with an emphasis on seafood. The grilled octopus starter is incredible. The new location (down the block) and updated menu are a much-welcomed addition to dining options on the west end of South Beach, and a favorite for locals.
