The psychology of color will forever be a fascinating topic. Why, then, does writing on “color psychology” feel so shallow?

It all started when I was a young girl. My Dad bought me a box of 64 crayons on a trip to Atlanta. I remember so vividly while riding in his work van, looking down on those exciting rows of crayons and seeing the endless possibilities of color. That started my love affair with color. Many years later, I am an color expressionist artist and have a passion for color and texture.

I've always had a desire to be in the art field, but it wasn't until after my late young husband passed away did I go for my dream of attending and studying fine art at Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, FL. Afterwards in 2004, I began to sell my paintings online via several art auction websites and to my surprise, they sold! I continue to sell my paintings online via my website. I paint with acrylics, and various tools to find unique relationships of color and texture.

My favorite moments are working on large canvases to feel and experience the movement of the paint and my body as well. The two combined together create an energy experience on canvas. My hope is that is translated in the art itself.

With one dream realized, it's time for another! I now am offering others art expression workshops and retreats, so they too can experience the energy of creative expression.

Creatively yours,
Allison

I didn't quite get what the rave reviews were about. Too small of a place for our comfort. The lady that took our order, wasn't that helpful, and rather looked at us with a blank expression when we asked simple questions since we were new to the place: i.e. where do we get ice for ice water? We were fighting off several flies in the backyard sitting area and would have preferred for the tables to be cleaner. We'll stick to Taco Temple, we prefer their food and flavor combinations better and drink options. Just a reminder...if you are an iced tea drinker....there's no regular iced tea or soft drinks if a member of your family or a friend is used to a soft drink. But plenty of beer, yes, I know...we are a beer city. If you're a hipster, you probably love this place. I guess we're just not that hip. We love fresh and unique flavors, but we didn't get the appeal.

We were at Flos's Place the week of Aug. 20-27. Our wait staff person was Jennifer and she was just wonderful. She explained the menu choices well and help us finalize our choices. The music was a nice eclectic mix. The environment is casual. The prices on the menu were affordable unlike most of the restaurants in the area. The fish tacos were incredible. I highly recommend them. The tacos had grilled Mahi-Mahi and nicely seasoned. The kale salad was great too, even my 10 yr. old loved the kale salad. Honestly, I wish I could get those fish tacos at home. Best I've ever had. There isn't anything I would do differently about them. And the hushpuppies were good. If you are one of those people, not looking for calabash style... this could be your place. Most of our party was tired of the fried calabash seafood style. We do understand that is common place there. Being a Southerner and lived near there, I get that. We prefer our seafood to be broiled, boiled, or grilled, not fried, so Flo's Place worked great for us. Oh, my sister ordered the crab cakes entree and loved it. We were surprised there were 3 crab cakes on her plate, rather than the usual 2 crab cakes served as an entree. If you like a casual environment, outside deck seating, casual seafood menu. I would recommend Flo's place. We had a party of 6 adults and one kid and everyone was pleased with the appetizers we ordered and main entrees. Portion sizes were good, not huge, but average. And ask for Jennifer...she was delightful and very helpful.

My husband and I have used Cox Auto for our mechanic needs several times now for different issues. We have been very pleased with our service from Cox. When hit with one major repair job, we called around the Asheville and surrounding areas, Cox Auto was way less expensive than other mechanics, even by 50%. That confirmed it with us to continue to go to Cox. Ray has been helpful, polite, informative, and reasonable. Oh! And Ray had the mechanic do any extra thing on our truck in our unique situation, which was nice. We highly recommend Cox Auto. We have been using Cox Auto Services for over 3 yrs now.
