The +Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that surgical site infections are the most common hospital-acquired infection, accounting for 31 percent of all #HAIs among hospitalized patients. Additionally, the same report ranks health care environment cleanliness as a priority in stopping the spread of these diseases.

The #CMS  plans to expand reporting of central line-associated bloodstream (#CLABSI) and catheter-associated urinary tract infections (#CAUTI) beyond ICUs to all medical and surgical beds throughout a hospital.
