Independent journalism is really nothing new. But independent publishing by journalists is. Here's why you should do it.
It appears that news organizations all across the country are pulling out of statehouses and giving up the beat to student journalists. That's terribly sad, on a number of levels. Nevertheless, the immediate question that comes to mind is, what's happening to all of those journalists that were covering state news? Where are they going? My guess is, many of them are taking up jobs with specialty online news outlets. I haven't worked for a newspape...

For many years, if you didn't have money to pay for a lawyer, you were shut out of the legal system. There are more and more affordable options available to people needing legal assistance, and more are coming online every day.
You might think a $400 billion legal market would cover most legal needs. The fact is, the U.S. is the largest legal market in the world and yet has plenty of underserved populations.

Great links for writers and business leaders. Why you should plan your self-publishing efforts with a timeline, awesome reference resources, leadership lessons from Hillary's e-mail, the push for a woman's face on the $20 bill, how to handle a reporter, Earth's biggest insect, B&N and Author Solutions did what?, why kids don't believe in moral facts, the Internet's undersea cables, a little bit of humor, and much more!

First, there was  shift in buying habits. People started researching products online and buying in brick-and-mortar stores. But as mobile commerce has risen, more people have started buying products online. Now, the retail sector is making its shift to invest in technology to facilitate online sales. With that comes a reduction in brick-and-mortar and such cuts typically involve staffing. Target is the latest retail chain to cut jobs to make way for more digital investment. http://www.bennetwork.com/job-news/target-cuts-jobs-as-it-transitions-to-digital-sales/

If you thought stupid laws were a thing of the past, think again.
America has some pretty strange laws, like the fact that in Mobile, Alabama, it's illegal for anyone to possess confetti, or that in Detroit, Michigan, you may not tie an alligator to a fire hydrant. Last February, Business Insider performed a community service by collecting some of the most ...

Reasons I might not circle you
-------------------------------------------------------------

  • I find no clues about what kind of content you like
  • Your profile isn't filled out
  • You don't have any public posts
  • The public posts you do have and that I can read don't show that we have anything in common
  • All of your posts are self-promotional
  • You have a branded company account, which is clearly against Google+ guidelines
  • More than likely, if I don't add you to a circle, it's because of a combination of these factors. So fill out your profile, share some interesting posts, and show me a little something about yourself.

Being from Texas where steak is the state food, it's not really fair of me to give a review, but I do like Hoss's. It's got a good atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. The food isn't bad.

Flapjacks isn't anything to speak of. The food is cheap so it won't bankrupt you, but you won't write home about it either. The service is a little shoddy. I probably wouldn't go back there except that I attend a monthly group meeting there. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's not so bad that you'll get sick.

T.J. Rockwell's is one of the nicest restaurants in this area. At least, that I've seen. I live in Adams County - Latimore Township to be exact - and we have to drive a good ways to eat nice food at a reasonable price. Being from Dallas, Texas originally, T.J. Rockwell's reminds me of the type of restaurants I would eat at on a regular basis, but those restaurants are few and far between in Adams County. You have to go to Gettysburg, York, or Harrisburg. I'm speaking more specifically about atmosphere, though the food at T.J. Rockwell's is good and not overly expensive. The service can sometimes be slow, but the wait staff is courteous and friendly.
