I've had this thought bouncing around in my head since yesterday but haven't been able to figure out how to articulate what I want to say. Fortunately, I woke up this morning and a few people beat me to it. I'll put in my two bits as well.

Regarding Kim Davis, I don't agree with her, not in the least. I could go on for several paragraphs about why I think what she's done is wrong, but that's not what I'm posting about here. That's pretty well been covered by plenty of other people.

What I want to say is let's be grown-ups about this and at least allow the woman her dignity. She broke the law, she defied a federal court order, the legal system did it's job, and she's in jail. Why do things have to degrade to this hateful level where we're all standing on the play ground yelling “YEAH! AND YOU'RE FAT AND UGLY TOO!”. It's childish and it's uncalled for.

I know it's easy to get caught up in the gloating and all, I've been guilty of it myself in the past. I think it's getting out of hand. There's enough meanness and hate flying around these days. Let's be better than that.

Don't forget that a woman's primary duty is to be attractive to straight men. So regardless of what women do, and how good or bad that is, we must comment on their appearance so they (and everyone else) know that they've failed or succeeded at their true purpose.

I agree completely. +Allen Seelye , Thank you for this share. This rings true in life, and personally, on different levels, to me, right now. I wish my parents had raised me to be strong, to know that I deserved better, or at least that I deserved a life worth living. I wish my father or stepfather had instilled in me that I was worthy, not worthless. Women need to be empowered. Some of us remain insecure, frightened girls too long.

It's interesting that the only time politicians take mental health seriously is when they can use it as a scape goat.

My wife has celiac disease and travelling is always problematic because we gamble every time we eat out. Just because a restaurant has gluten free meals, doesn't mean that they're taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination in their kitchens. It's something we've dealt with many times, eating a supposedly gluten free meal but by the time we get home, she is doubled over in pain because something snuck onto her plate before it got to our table. Tomato Street came up on a google search as having a wide variety of gluten free options, so we decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. Nearly every item on the menu had gluten free options. We ate, the meal was excellent, Cassidy was a fantastic server that was very conscious of my wife's need to avoid gluten, and seemed very educated on the subject. The meal was excellent for both of us, the service was great and the atmosphere in Tomato Street is very warm and fun. I'll recommend it to anyone, gluten intolerant or not, if you're travelling through Spokane.

The food was good. The service was good. That wasn't the problem. The problem is that one of their claims to fame is that they have a mostly gluten free menu. They even tout it on their website. Avoid the flour tortillas and you're good. This turned out to not be the case. If you have an actual, legitimate gluten intolerance you need to avoid this place. My wife has Celiac disease. Even the tiniest bit of gluten causes horrible shooting pains in her abdomen, diarrhea, nausea, mood swings... it's all really unpleasant and goes on for four or five days. I put in the comments for her meal that she had a severe gluten intolerance and to please be conscious of cross contamination. Apparently they don't take it seriously. About an hour after her meal she started feeling all the usual symptoms. That was two days ago and she finally felt well enough to return to work today. We will not be eating there again.

It's alright but I expected... more. It's a small store without much of a selection. They seem to be geared more toward minifigures, of which they have a pretty good array, but don't have much in the way of lego sets. If you're looking for minifigures or to trade in minifigures, you'll do well here. If you're looking for lego sets, you'll find a better selection at Target or Walmart.

They certainly make some very tasty products, there is not doubt about that. We'd started going there because my girlfriend has a gluten allergy and they had some fantastic gluten free baked goods. I'm not sure what happened, but the last two times that I've gone there and bought gluten free doughnuts, my girlfriend has spent the next four days in pain, with the usual symptoms of having ingested gluten. Perhaps one of their ingredients has changed and they're not aware of it, or maybe they're not being as careful about cross contamination as they used to be, but we no longer trust their gluten free products. We will not be buying from them anymore.
