Love his voice and so glad I got to see the documentary made of the concert at NYC's Town Hall that T Bone Burnett put together. That was amazing beyond words, the history of this music and what came from it. Oscar Isaac has a much nicer personality than Llewyn Davis, too!

I adore this painted lady Victorian home painted in various shades of purple, plum, lavender and touches of white. It was posted in the magazine, #RebelsMarket. No one has been able to find a source, location or credit for it. Do you know anything about it? RSVP. Thanks.

I love listening to +Keith Galliher Jr. He has a wonderful voice. He chooses 'classic' music that enhances both the songs and his voice range. What a treat to have this kind of music to enjoy in this day and age for boomers and anyone with an open heart.

Eskimo Ice Cream

Well, I finally got my answer to the question asked the other day on A.M. News on Renegade 101.3 about where to get moose fat. First of all it is traditionally an essential ingredient in Akutaq, Eskimo Ice Cream. Secondly, ". . . If you want to experience the 'real' akutaq (eskimo ice cream), you'll need to find somebody who's a subsistence hunter, since state law doesn't allow the commercial production and sale of wild game products."

It looks so good, I really wanted to try it. It is made today for the SAD, not the Indigenous peoples of Alaska. There is no more fish, no more moose fat, sugar is added and it is probably just like regular ice cream. The traditional Akutaq had only one thing in common with what we know as ice cream, it was frozen.

I needed to have two favorite rugs cleaned. GiGi Carpet did a professional and prompt job cleaning them. I then recommended them to a friend who owns a store. Her entire store is carpeted. It has high traffic and is open six days a week. GiGi Carpet Cleaning Service Inc. came at her convenience, did an excellent job, wall to wall, and made a very satisfied customer.

A bit off the beaten path since this is the actual brewery. It is open to the public once a week from 2 to 7 pm on Wednesdays. There is a tasting corner with a view of the entire brewery. Wiped out by Hurricane Sandy, Barrier is newly up and running again. Evan and Sean have gone a great job. The place is shining and brand new again. In spite of the hurricane disaster, colleagues helped them keep going brewing a unique beer with an upstate brewery. Local LI brewers joined with them to create Surge Protector. In the craft beer industry, they are a local find and one that prides itself in contributing to the beer lover's palate.

Spectacular yogurt. The whey separates on its own so I don't have to strain it. What a treat. I add some fresh fruit and it is like eating ice cream. But much healthier than any I've ever tasted.

The food is unsurpassed. The pizza is old fashioned style and served by the pie only. The decor is the original marble topped tables, tile floors and other details from decades ago when the restaurant opened. We love their salads so much that we often go for lunch and just have the salads for two for each of us. The ambiance is informal and delightful. This is one of our favorite restaurants in RVC.
